Comparing the T with the RS, a new video from Germany (Auto Bild, huge car magazine).
In German, but you can use the generated CC with autotranslate in English. It works. Haven't seen it yet...watched Alcaraz vs Struff and F1 Miami starts in 10 min...sooo, only later

Hahaha that was very funny. Always love a good sense of humor so don’t worry.
I don’t think they drive quicker than 120km/h to be honest. I made a picture today you will like. See below. About the middle lane: Germans have clearly lost there knowledge of driving. On 3 lanes they all drive in the middle lane. I could pass around 40 cars today on the right lane. Times has changed. The Nur Links for Dutch people is now same for Germans.
I think it’s clear the 911 will never sound as good as the old pre-turbo engine on the 991.1. I agree the 991.2 T sounds perfect from 5000-7000. But it had a perfect symfonie around 4000rpm as well. Below the 992 T definitely sounds deeper and has a lot more bass. A bit back to the 991.1 actually. It all has to do with the CO2 norms unfortunately. These cars all could sound much better than they do so I understand people changing the exhaust and deleting the OPF (is that word correct?). About the 6 gear: the gearing is longer so it’s not all positive.
I have to admit haven’t been reading the latest news so you could be right. But few months ago this was the vibe.
Exactly!
The funny thing is your answer is a bit “wrong”. The 718 is rarely a smaller car. In some dimensions it’s even bigger than the 911. I can’t remember which one but I am sure someone could compare them. The difference in dimensions does not justify the difference in driving style. It all just has to do with the position of the engine. Nothing else. Its the mid engine that makes the 718 drive like a kart and the 911 behave more like a BMW. That is the reason why it’s much harder to drift a 718. Driving on the limit of the 718 is difficult. Playing around on the edges of understeer and oversteer is almost impossible. The 911 suits that job much better. Since the 911 is not as light in the nose as it was the driving characteristic is much more like a BMW. Even if the engine is in the back. 50 years of development proves its mastery. So yes the cars are very different and feel very different but the size has almost nothing to do with it. I like them both but consider the 911 to be an icon. And love BMW so the 911 suits my wishes better. Can play more. Less planted. But add 4S and RAS and the 911 feels like on rails.
My wifes 991.1 GTS vert i am absolutely happy with the exhaust because of the induction sounds and the top down its insane. I think that Porsche has followed this moto with about any of their non GT cars. I was on the fence to buy a 991.2 GT3 or this car and I choose the T because I wanted a car that was comfortable driving around town and on short trips to the mountains with my wife by my side. I think this car comes alive on the twisties at higher rpms. I too may do some modest exhaust work at some point. I have heard that the gearbox is fantastic but that many would of preferred a 6 speed so it was interesting that would were able to ascertain that.

No kidding, that's your licence plate? How much would a plate like that cost if you don't mind me asking?
In the UK the most expensive plates ever sold are...
25 O - Sold for £518k ($654k) probs to the owner of a Ferrari 250 GTO
X 1 - Sold for £503k
RR 1 - Sold for £472k no prizes for guessing what car it was for

Was driving a lot on the German highway today. The car feels very stable on high corner speeds. This was very strange actually. I would expect the 4S with RAS to feel much more stable and planted on higher speeds. It didn’t. At least the 992 T feels extremely planted on high speeds. Very happy about it. Could be also the missing of variable steering. So the feeling in the steer is more secure, but should not be the case on high speeds. Could be also the Michelins? I had GoodYear on the 4S. Whatever the reason: the car feels very stable on high speed corners.
I did not have enough road to go all the way. Maximum was 275km/h today so 170 miles. The 4S felt much quicker above 200km/h. But the strange thing with the T is that it’s very important how far you press the gaspedal. It seems strange. But what I mean is that usually when you press the pedal at around 80% it’s already giving max torque. It doesn’t really matter if you push the pedal like 80% or 90% or 100%. At least that’s what I have noticed in the other cars. Could also be PDK related. Or I am just going crazy. But on the T pressing the pedal 90% or 100% actually does matter a lot. You can just feel that difference in power. Could be due to 65 less horsepower maybe? So all difference in power is felt easier?
I also tried a smaller route of 25 minutes going around 100-125km/h seeing how economical the car was. It was fairly easy to get 1:13,5 on the BC. So that is around 31,75 mpg (US). But at least @Uhu will like this picture more.

The Cayman has a longer wheelbase by 1" than the 911. The 911 is longer but, more importantly, 2" wider and 1" taller, so from the driver's seat it feels bigger. Plus my T is 100lbs heavier than my Cayman, and has a bigger passenger area, so it seems better, especially for those folks who want a bigger interior.
The 911 still feels like a 911, rear engine. I don't see how that feels like a BMW.

Hi @Particularberet — I’ve owned many 911s and a few PTS cars so I’ve spent a lot of time considering and comparing paints and colors over the years. Your question is a good one but tough to answer because the PTS palette has many attractive options. But here would be a few of my top choices:
— Gulf Blue (painful for me to say since it was showcased on at least one press car)
— Signal Yellow
— Grey Black
— Ultraviolet
— Acid Green

And of course, finding a caravan worthy of a T

You are right, the driving in Germany is a lot worse compared to 20 years ago. Everyone is in the middle lane or worse, in the left lane on a 2 lane highway. The "rechtsfahrgebot" is never enforced, but God forbid if you try passing on the right. They will throw the book at you.
Even worse, the Reißverschlussverfahren is a big unknown for 80-90% of them...makes it dangerous to apply it. Which is bull**** in the end.

The OPF in Europe is due to direct injection engines producing a lot of particles in certain situations.
I don't have too much experience driving the 6 speed in the 718 GTS/GT4, but by looking at the Hockenheim laps videos, you can clearly see how short throw and precise the gear change is in the T and how he is fighting with the gearbox in the 718. And yes, the gearing is exaggerated in the 718...find it funny to complain about the 7th gear in the 911 Which actually I like and used a lot in Germany. Cruising at 200 km/h at a relaxed 3200-3300 rpm? Checked. Yes please.
I do not see the point of putting a hybrid system in a low volume high profit super car like the Turbo/Turbo S. Also, wrong customer pool too.
Quite amazed and pleasantly surprised how freely the T engine revvs. And you can enjoy it already above 2000 rpm. And because it's turbocharged, you get the full torque at those rpms too...so no need to rev higher to ride the torque wave. It's like getting your cake and eating it too!
Or, in the words of the great Frasier, "Well, doesn't that just put the cherry on the parfait"

Length: 4503 mm vs 4405 mm
Width: 1851 mm vs 1801 mm
Height: 1293 mm vs 1276 mm
Wheelbase: 2450 mm vs 2475 mm
You can only tell the difference between the middle and rear engine layout when driving at the very limit.
Considering the stock setup/alignment in the 718 GTS is towards understeer, to save the inexperience driver from getting his head bitten off by a out of control middle-engined car, you can't actually come nowhere near that limit in a stock car. And in the 992 T you get the wider front track, the RAS (optional, but I have it) and the engine in the boot.
I am not there yet, to test the 992 T limits, but by comparing the videos from Hockenheim, the T allows better acceleration out of the turns and really on the limit braking. And no trace of understeer.
Haven't done my PEC visit yet, but I think I will test the GTS 4.0 if they have it...and the GT3. I already have the T, makes no sense to drive that too. Will do that in July, at a track day. Maybe even a photo op on the Nürburgring in May or June.

7.4 l/100 km is pretty impressive. And I love how even with all that dirt on it, it still looks great!
I have a few nice stretches of Autobahn near me, 300+ indicated might be doable in the not so distant future
pretty cool. I travel often. Occasionally in Austin, DFW, Houston & San Antonio. Not sure where you’re at, but if I happen to see that plate…I’ll scream HEY CUZ!

For some reason, I thought the wait lists have quelled a bit especially with the current economic climate and price increases. I was #7 when I got the call in Feb in NJ. I was expecting a year wait, but it had been only 3 months since putting in my deposit at that point. No ADM, but they are asked for me to do front PPF with them.
Contemplating mods prior to getting T based on gut feeling. Every car could use a little improving with reversible to stock mods. Yes, this is how I stay amused not having it yet. Likely in the following order…
1- clear side markers
2- exhaust
3- audio
4- body kit or just wing
5- wind buffeting triangle
6- lowering springs
Last on list - wheels. Mine is black so hoping grey side sticker aligns well with standard titanium grey colored S rims. We’ll see…
Anyone else thinking of or completed a MUST mod for T?
