Very good write up. Yes the G50 transmission in the 964 is bullet proof. I think Singer also used the 964 because it was the last model to exemplify the true 911 front end with the raised turrets. I picked up my 964 when they were the red headed step child. The only complaint I have is that it leaks like an old Harley. Why in the hell did Porsche build an engine without a head gasket? The fix is going to cost me 20k. For now I just park it on cardboard and drive it like it’s stolen.

Sound system upgrade!
I spend 20-30 mins every day researching aftermarket sound system upgrades.
So far there’s all coming out more expensive than the Burmester would have cost!
So many non GT 911’s have been delivered this year with the ****ty basic system there must be a big opportunity for aftermarket sound system companies!!?

I have owned more 964's than I can count. I sold my last 964 for a 993 in speed yellow. The 964 leaked oil always some better than others but always leaked. My 993 is spot dry on the bottum its crazy. I love my 993 but it doesn't deliver the same amount of fun as the 964 its 80 percent of the fun but its more comfortable. Miss my 964!

They all do this! Take delivery and leave us! I promise to document my delivery from the family taking delivery to probably my wife driving off in it! She has a GTS and is just as much of a fan. I am hoping to teach my middle daughter to drive stick better on the 993 before the car comes so we can take a drive around the neighborhood.

300 MILES REVIEW
Yesterday was a nice day for some driving. Went to a friend with who we washed the car a bit. With the coating and all the dirt went of smoothly. I also passed the 500km (300 miles) mark so got the engine towards 4500 rpm. I have to say the car with the turbo engine between 2000 and 4500 is a joy to ride. Between 3500-4500 is the most fun. If I should decide to drive this car around for the rest of its life and not come above 4500rpm I would still be happy. The sound and the brakes (starting to use them as well) are just fantastic. The cabin noice is a blast. The engine and exhaust sounds fit the car. You notice the exhaust burning in and talking more and more. The brakes I have not used properly but starting to use them a bit more and more and already can feel they feel very secure. I cannot notice any difference with the 4S. But with heavier braking I will give a more thorough update on this matter.
Finally the consumption is not bad. I drove it now at around 1:8 so that is 8km/l so that should be around 19mpg. Considering you break the car in which means driving different speeds and different rpm it is not very bad. The mileage will be lower on constant speeds. That is not what you do during the break in period. Also the manual clearly says the car will have better consumption after around 3000km (2000 miles). On the other hand after break in period we will go full attack. But if it remains 19mpg on average I would be happy. This also means when I want I can easily go towards 25mpg when driving slowly.
And of course this thread is useless without pics !

Blasphemy! When was the last time you drove on the Nordschleife?
You were supposed to first drive a lap , then stop to "Rettis" Tankstelle, buy a Schnitzel Brötchen plus the ring sticker. And in the end, put it on the car, to show that you drove through the green hell.
Actually, this is what tourists do.
The connoisseurs use the "N" sticker, to show that they are 'Nfiziert
