Still no changes on my TYD surprisingly. 45 days to estimated dealer arrival. Some of the dates seem ambitious though, says it will be on the truck to Emden the same day as build completion, on the truck to dealer from Davisville same date as port arrival, etc.

Also, interesting thing I noticed, on my options list everything has a description with the exception of anything that is technically "Exclusive Manufacturing Department"... those things are just listed as the code.. so if something is missing a description that is why.
Example: My Carbon roof, Race-tex wheel, Race-Tex armrest, Yellow Seatbelts, Exclusive Design taillights, and dashcam prep Are all missing their name next to their code because they are part of that group.

Greatly appreciate that photo since I have that in my far-from-locked build with GB. I think what really ruins it in that GT3 is the yellow stitching and details. I'll have to give it more thought. It might look decent with black everything else and Sports Plus 4-way checkered inserts.

Just a subjective observation from me - to me it popped too much. Seemed more fit for a lambo that might also have a bright blue leather interior with it. No pics, sorry should have taken some.

Just checked TYD... My freeze date was just bumped up by 4 days. SO I am now officially locking in 10 days from now instead of 2 weeks.
Production date unchanged and still set for 3/10. So my car should be done on 3/17, giving them about 8 weeks to get ED paperwork done. As long as there aren't any major delays, that should be more than enough time!
Anyone else see timeline changes today?

Ok so I asked the ED team and my dealer tech about this because Im obviously not thrilled about flying all the way over to Europe to pick up a brand new Manual Transmission 992 that Im going to be ecstatic to beat the crap out of and have to drive it like a grandma.... This is what one of the guys told me:
We recommend a break in period of 1200 Miles, but what we mean by that is you should allow the car to come completely up to temperature without exceeding 4K RPM, and in the first 1200 miles avoid using cruise control, heavy stop and go traffic, and excessive redline pulls. It is perfectly fine to exceed 4K RPM after the car has reached full operating temps... but you should avoid using the full RPM range until after the 1200 miles...
basically if the car is fully warmed up, I think you can enjoy it, but don't push it too hard too fast

You should have gotten an e-mail from Porsche regarding "Track You Dream". Accessible via my.porsche.com. If not, have your SA plug your e-mail address into your order.

The best way to break in a new car is on a dyno. The next best way is explained in the video below. People think you need to pussyfoot to break it in. That's not quite right.

I saw on the recent Savagegeese video on C8 Z06 production where the engineers spoke to engine break-in. Each Z06 engine is run on a dyno, but not to full redline and follows a protocol. They said the bearings have a sacrificial layer that is part of new engine break-in. The engine oil is swapped after the dyno run to remove those initial lubricants. GM also reduces redline on C8 and Blackwing cars during the break-in period. I trust the engineers had reason enough to do this, even if to prevent an over exuberant new owner from becoming YouTube famous with a redline burnout leaving the dealership (and the subsequent warranty claim).
