Yep I put a 5k deposit and was told it was fully refundable up until I take delivery of the car, and the purchase contract I signed states as such. Dealer wants 15k ADM really hoping I can get them to bring it down when the car comes in the spring but I have a feeling that will require me getting the call for another allocation from a different dealer. We will see how it goes, I am also keeping an eye what 150k gets me on the used market since obviously not thrilled with the idea of paying over 10% above sticker.

If the US market said all 911s had to be sold with pink tires, PAG would probably bend over and say "what shade of pink?"

The dealer network in the US is protected in almost all states by franchise laws, meaning manufacturers cannot by law sell direct to consumers but rather must sell to dealers who must be independent businesses from the manufacturer. Those laws also control how many dealers they can appoint and where they are, although they generally allow dealers to sell to someone in another state or region. Which is why it's not uncommon to shop around for a car and have it shipped in from interstate. There's pressure for that to change, not least of all because Tesla has managed to get around the laws and sell direct but either way that's why ADM's are a thing here and not in other markets. All Porsche can control is the price they sell to dealers.

So I'm on "the list" to get an allocation from my local dealer. I'm being told there are 15 people in front of me but the SA said he believes some of those are "fluff" as in not serious buyers that will back away when offered an allocation. We shall see, he did ask for a build code and said I could possibly expect the car by this time next year. I'm assuming the request for a deposit typically comes when an allocation is available? Anyway, I'm excited to at least have the possibility of ordering a new T to replace my 2018 Cayman S, and also have the opportunity for a PEC Atl delivery since it's only 45 minutes away from me. Fingers crossed!

Those of you receiving the call and submitting orders—any word from your SA regarding carbon fiber buckets or the Bose sound system? Are either of those options available, just not visible on the configurator? My dealership received 3 T allocations and I’m #4 so next up unless someone passes. Thank you in advance!

Full leather means the dash, door panels, knee bolsters, rear trim etc. here, not the seat centers with are Sport-Tex.

That's just a tip from me in case someone doesn't want the T just because he can't get full leather seats.

My dealership is Porsche Minneapolis in Minnesota. Sounds like the three allocations they received deliver in the first half of the year so hopefully there will be another batch to come! I’d have to find who it was to credit them but someone a couple years ago on Rennlist ran numbers in the US for the last production run of the T and total numbers were somewhere around 900 near the end I believe. Not certain how accurate the numbers were or if they offer insight into our future. Interesting nonetheless.

Then I only need 1 corner
The general feeling was I should include RAS; my pal is an extremely expert and skilled driver and he tracks his GT4 RS and this GT3 Touring regularly… he said I should definitely include it, especially as I’m going for the racer feel with carbon roof and manual with rear seat delete.

Question for those of you who have gotten TYD already
I noticed in other threads that people's TYD shows the full model name, but mine doesn't show this. It also doesn't show any description for the build codes.

Figured I’d register and join the community now that I’m an official future Porsche owner. I was number 3 for a GT4 and 2 for a Carrera T. Got the call two days ago that I have a T allocation at MSRP if I want it. At first I was a little reluctant, but after sleeping on it I can’t wait to get the car. Going for a pretty minimalistic build - PPUEWJI9.
