I plan to do an update video once we get a few more mods on the car. I have the PCCB calipers (with girodisc rotors) and Ohlins R&T coilovers going on as we speak. Will be at Road Atlanta with it next weekend. We're mostly doing a lot of data acquisition at the moment but plan to do an update video at various stages of the build.

Here is a little more of a write up summary: https://flat6motorsports.com/blogs/n...-t-breaking-in

Ya good points. I guess anything can be fun on a track. I won’t answer the question of what cars would be more proper for the track as it seems the Porsche guys get very defensive and upset at the mention of other, more track focused brands. You guys are right that at this price point, it probably beats most others. Wasn’t meant to be a slam Porsche. Was just surprised that so many do it. I’m actually really enjoying mine and happily surprised that I am. It works well and is fun for my daily to work and back. I’ve never tracked my other car but I’m told it’s ridiculous and amazing if I do. I just can’t go beat the hell out of it like that cos I’m a p*ssy. 😊

Thank you for letting me know. I am interested in getting coilovers for my 911 at some point, JRZ or Bilstien, As so it is interesting to me to see what people have done to their cars.

I ran the Bilstein EVO SE's on my last 992, will have Ohlins insights shortly. I have experience with the JRZs on my 981. Excited to experience the Ohlins, they have been good on many of my other cars!

you’re right , now I’m going to sell it

That's fine. I've been doing this long enough to be confident in my opinions, while understanding that some folks may have experienced things differently or disagree. I stand by everything I said.

Porsche wont cover powertrain failures that happen to a T due to track use.

I've raced an Oldsmobile Cutlass with a rollcage. Doesn't mean the cutlass is a track car. The standard Cayman is not a track-car out of the box; only the GT models. Anything than be converted to one though.

I agree with this definition.

To track any Porsche Reliably.
Miattas warranty is voided so I have heard when they are tracked.
The T's hardware and components might not last as long on the track, as a GT car but still will not fail to hold up to Track abuse. The Carrera T like all Carreras Caymans and Boxsters will not be going the speeds requiring a dry sump and be tracked and abused in the way the GT cars are. SOme could argue they will last a tiny bit longer than GT cars since they don't get abused as hard even if the quality is not GT level.
No, the brakes and cooling are not suitable for driving at 10/10ths all weekend. As I said, T is fine as a track car at most folks pace (7/10th to 9/10ths) Just not really suitable for full-bore track attack like a GT car.

You're needlessly nitpicking my statement. This isn't specifically about brakes or anything, but rather about the whole package. The T was never built as a track weapon and Porsche has never claimed that it is...

But as I led off with, it's perfectly suitable for track use.

I read through the article, and I like what you have said here.
Now I am interested in the sustainability of pushing 700 hp through the engine. Or even going from say 370 on the T to 520 on the T, what are the long-term side effects, of doing so?
Are there any preventative or other upgrades to do to keep the engine from halving its lifespan by pushing so much hp through it?

Someone jacked up the spreadsheet. Not sure how to fix, so I left it alone.

Any 911 is a fun on a track. They pretty much all deliver a similar 911 experience. One which is hard to safely experience on the street. Massaging it into the turn when coming from a long straight. Trailbraking to reduce the push that is a factor of the light front. Once it's in the turn maintenance throttle is applied to settle the rear and manage the exact opposite issue. Followed by a squeeze of throttle at the apex and then full throttle on the unwind of steering angle. Every 911 wants that.
