992 Carrera T Club
I originally wanted Guards, but I did not think we could live with owning two red German vehicles at the same time.

These crazy over the top prices keep me somewhat satisfied, perhaps wrongly but it works for me that my car is worth more than I paid for it 6 mos. ago.

Example; I overpaid for my one owner, manual, 997.2 C2 two years ago, but every time I get behind the wheel and turn the key I feel it was worth every penny.

You're spending a lot of time here trying to get opinions on your build. I don't think there is any build that has any value unless you have communication with the person you are investing so much time, money and effort trying to please. You're not changing shirts. You're contemplating selling a car you don't want to sell and buying one you don't really want to buy on a hope and a prayer that she may like it more and be willing to get in it. I previously suggested you take her to the dealership to see if she likes the 911 and you said she'd never do that. She has disdain for the things you love. I'm sorry but this is just bizarre to me. Listen, I'm really trying to be helpful. It will be tragic if you sell the car you and your kid love for something she'll be just as ambivalent about and lizard green accents is not a good start if she doesn't like loud colors. Maybe you guys just need to talk and make a decision together, don't you think?
She doesn't care about the rest of the options and as long as it is not a bright color, she is fine with it. I let my four-year-old at the time pick the Spyder color and I showed it to my wife when I had finished the build. She took exactly 5 seconds of interest in in and went back to her work. She said she didn't realize it was a two-seater till it showed up. That is how much attention she paid when I walked her through the build. She wouldn't care less about the stitching color.
If your wife dislikes the spyder she won’t like the T either. The T rides rather stiffly and is noisy inside - less sound deadening. And she will really hate a GT3.
i also owing a Targa 4 - 2021- and that is a wonderful road car- easy to drive 409 miles a day. Comfortable with the comfort seats - fun with the top down and the kids can sit in the back and have a great view.
or ask for a base Carrera / my son has a 2023 Carrera / it has softer suspension and more sound deadening than the T and is a really great car as a touring car. And your wife will enjoy driving the base carrera with the wonderful PDK. The base Targa 4 also has a PDK.
this all depends on how much you really want to make her happy and willing to travel in the car with you,
she will dislike the T as much as the Spyder.

Would she hate a GT3 Touring? She would hate that it didn't have a back seat but it is also a car that can fly under the radar and at least it won't mess up her hair. However, I don't have an allocation so it is kind of a mute point anyway.

@MaddMike I'm happy for you that she's willing to go to the dealer with you and it sounds like you guys are on the same page more so than before. After the Spyder experience, I'd hate for you to have a repeat of that with the 911. I truly hope you find a car all of you can enjoy together.
@Macboy and @Scott P love the track pics!

@MaddMike is this your daily driver? I understand the need to fit the family, but not in my toys. I have several toys, they are not for family play time. Sometimes one kid goes with me, or just the wife, for a quick drive. But rarely to car events. My car time tends to be my "me" time with friends. But I'm also basically an empty nester now, so there's much more me time now.

Burning Brakes
Why are there so many Porsche sports car buyers that want to “fly under the radar”? Seems like a major part of owning a beautiful sports car is well for it to look amazing and beautiful parked and while driving. So a few people give you a thumbs up or wave at you or walk over and tell you they appreciate your car.
i have a truck and an suv that fly under the radar.

My Meteor Grey 997.2 gets very little attention and you rarely see 997s out on the roads in our city. They are kind of a rare sighting, especially dot 2s as it appears that the vast majority of locally owned 997s are now tucked away in garages as garage queens.
Any “special” color 992 or 718 attracts plenty of admiration at the local Cars & Coffee or PCA events. I personally appreciate that, but at my age (early 50s) I now greatly prefer to stand out versus blending in with everyone else. I did that for the vast majority of my life. I am over it!

Who knew that my Shark Blue CGTS would end up being the car that's under the radar! I don't fly under the radar in the T, that's for sure! (I have a white 4 door Audi for that. lol)
