I was debating on responding, but obviously decided to anyway.
I understood, as am sure everybody who read your comment understood that what you were stating was YOUR opinion.
What I, and I'm not the only one, object to is the opinion that not speccing a car as YOU think is appropriate is RUINING a car. At that point, your OPINION is putting down every person who opted not to option a car in line with YOUR specification. It's one thing to declare that you wouldn't get a car with certain options, it's another to declare that somebody who selects those options has ruined the car. In a group where there have been multiple posts about how welcoming the group is - comments like yours, both the one that I quoted in my previous post and the one I'm responding to aren't welcoming, but instead is telling folks that if they share that they optioned their car any other way than how you approve of - that they're unworthy. As someone who used to run a car club - nothing drives off new members more effectively than old members who say crap like that.
And yes, I've only been on Rennlist for a few months... But I've been involved in car clubs and internet car communities for well over 20 years, including spending several years as an administrator on another car forum that Internet Brands (who also owns Rennlist) purchased about 15 years ago, one of the communities I was involved in was one where the manufacturer saw customization of the car as a selling point - and folks did some pretty crazy stuff to their cars. So I'm pretty familiar with folks going in a completely different direction with the design and specification of their cars as opposed to how I want it.
Lots of folks post photos here of their T's in configurations and colors that I wouldn't be caught dead in.... And I like every one of those pictures regardless... Why? Because at the end of the day, whether it's a choice I would make or not, it's still a Porsche - and Porsche's are cool. And, even if it's not a configuration or color I like - clearly it brings the owner joy, and that's more important than what I think about the configuration.
What I wouldn't do, even if the owner asked my opinion, is tell them - Oh god, why did you ruin your car painting it baby poo brown with cat barf yellow seat belts. Just like most decent people wouldn't tell a parent that their newborn is hideous no matter how much of a shriveled prune the kid actually looks like.

Can you please stop polluting this thread with this nonsense? Enough already.

What are you going on about? Someone solicited my opinion about a car being auctioned. I gave that person said opinion. It was not an opinion about your car or anyone's car here. IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU.
Posted by Radiationman
And yet, you posted it publicly... So then nobody has a right to disagree with you, or to question it? If that was the case, maybe you shouldn't have posted it publicly. Whether it was to one person or to the world in general - it was a public comment. And while, yes your comment may have been about the options on the car being auctioned - there are folks on this board who have specced their cars similarly, and you slammed their decision as much as you did the dealer spec for the car you were commenting on.
Regardless, I'm done with you....

Gentlemen - please. Let’s just cool it. This is a happy forum, let’s keep it that way.
If you guys want to keep at it please do so privately.
Alternatively, I’m an ex marriage guidance councillor and for a small fee I could mediate??

@tourenwagen may have missed it somewhere in thousands of posts since but how is your Amazon Mesh solution holding up?
I need to get this done and debating DIY vs Zunsport.

$16 metal mesh from Amazon and a few zip ties. There is a set that you can buy but I wanted to give this a shot first.
This weekend was the test as I did about 150 miles (with some of those over 55mph *cough*) and they held up just fine.
In fact I had to clean a bunch of debris off them when I got home which means they're doing their job lol

Just eye-balled the cut and used a couple zip ties to hold them on

Wow - I disappear for 3 weeks and the T crew adds over 50 pages to this thread! While I'm working on a European Delivery thread, I thought I'd give my T-mates a preview. I don't want to spoil all the details here but the short story is I love the car but the Leipzig delivery experience was farcical to put it mildly! The reality is that it was absolute rubbish - they didn't have my tags ready despite having 5 months, 1 week, and 1 day to get them in time. I also got ripped off on track time. But let's skip to the good stuff - the car is awesome. I bought this car despite never having driven a 911 and now I get it - I get why people love them. It's a joy to operate every control in the car, and to listen to it snarl. We started with 11 miles on the car (18 km) and put over 2300 miles on it the following 15 days. We dropped it off this past Wednesday & returned home just after 12:30am yesterday (after a hellish 19.5 hour odyssey) and of course now I'm stalking the car via an AirTag (and wondering YTF it's been sitting in Dusseldorf the past 36 hours!). Ok, enough talk for the moment - you want some pix:
Oh the drama...
The big reveal...
I think he likes it!
First time sitting in it!
Blasphemous lack of side decals...
That's strange - where are the tags?
Hmm, why is there one car left at the end of the day? Apparently just one unlucky bastard got no tags on 8/22 - thanks, Leipzig factory team!

I’m just about to put an order in and am undecided about wheels.
I’m also getting white rather than the GT Silver I had last time and I think the spider wheels look great with white, but the thought of cleaning them scares me - must take ages??

@Barkat03 I feel the same pertaining to the RS wheels. I am extremely OCD about my vehicles, therefore I am the only individual that washes and details them so the concern that it would take exceptionally longer to clean the RS wheels than the entire vehicle would be alarming,
