It means that Porsche submitted their EPA certification application last week...lol. EPA has been approving applications in about a week.

The applications and certificates all all viewable on the EPA website. It appears applications are only posted after certification...so you won’t see 992 apps until the cert is posted.

CARB...who knows...

This feels like the most "real" update yet...

Feels like people will start seeing cars in the next 10 days

my SA just updated that all cars in Jax just got pushed back another week. Been there almost two weeks. So if it’s not in that batch, before thanksgiving isn’t happening.

I guess I'll get a taste of the pain many others are feeling waiting for their cars that have been stuck at port.

My car still at Emden Port so not quite following the EPA certification delay chaos. However just had a conversation with my SM this afternoon and I mentioned about the EPA push back incident here and the following is his response. Again, not necessary a fact, just try to share some information here.
[Quote from my SM]
"Good deal! I have some good news on the EPA front. I believe the new cars will start shipping this weekend (fingers crossed)."

Who knows if Porsche has even submitted their applications to EPA and CARB or not. I just got the below from PCNA:

The word “expedite” lost its meaning weeks ago.

Yep makes sense...let me reach out to a few "friends" and my SA.

Yes that is what I heard back....EPA aka POS from Feds clearance this week. CARB is CA entity and is a week behind the feds (not surprised given the dieselgate issues of a few years ago) and is expected next week with full release 20th Nov date as shown. Similar thing happened with Macans/Cayennes just now with EPA/FED THEN CARB release. Doesn't understand why they don't just do them simultaneously. Also suspects but would not say it was not as much Porsche's fault or something with the cars but that 2020 and COVID19 has made some normally easy process delayed and painful thus what should have happened (clearances) by the time the factory re-opened in Sept have been pushed to the right to include paperwork and requested certification docs arriving/being reviewed later than previously and some personnel not being in place normally to accomplish all these tasks. But again he doesn't work for EPA or CARB or even Porsche AG in these specific departments but like many businesses during the last 6 mos trying to get in touch with persons in house for work items/questions/actions has been "interesting" is how it was put.

Hopefully cars to all soon...sounds like a good Thanksgiving wish to me!

If it’s true that approvals are happening about a week after applications are submitted, which I doubt, then they should have submitted applications back when 2021 production completed models started three months ago.

https://iaspub.epa.gov/otaqpub/

Search for yourself - it’s less than a week in a lot of cases across the board for every manufacturer.

You’re likely right. The EPA approval applications seem include CARB approval already. On the Macan/Cayenne App it has the approval letter from CARB and addresses a penalty that Porsche agreed to of $25 per car sold in California due to 3 deficiencies.
