Not just 911’s. I’ve got a 718 waiting at port.

Taycans are also waiting for CARB certificate which highlights even more how ridiculous this entire situation is.

Certainly understandable!

I am waiting for a 992TTS that I ordered in March and for which there was NO MY2020 antecedent. At the time of my order, I traded my 991Targa4S and so have been 911-less for 8 months. While the delay is disappointing, no one - at the dealer, at PCNA, at PAG, at EPA or at CARB offered me any kind of assurance, much less a promise, about when I would receive my car. Would I have preferred having it sooner? Most definitely, but - just for myself (we are all different after all) - I don’t think it’’s worth it for me to get exercised in a situation where I can do nothing to accelerate or improve the process.

ps - it is my understanding that CARB requires retesting if there is ANY variation between model years - not just drivetrain/emissions. Perhaps someone who is knowledgeable could clarify.

Not sure if anyone felt a vibration in the Force, but I am 3 hours away from taking delivery of my car, heading to my CARB state from a dealer in a non-CARB state. Don't ask me how -- I sure didn't ask many questions. Trucking manifest attached for those non-believers. Will send pics later today -- part of me still holding my breath and wondering if the CARB police are going to jump out and handcuff me and the driver as the car is coming off the trailer. Assuming the car rolls off, the ignition actually starts the car, and the PDK allows me to put it in forward drive, I will head straight to the 7-11 to buy a lottery ticket

My dealer claims that my car is coming in today but somehow cannot send me a screenshot from PVST showing that CARB and Monroney blocks are removed. What state is your dealer in and which state are you in?

So looks like we’re definitely getting that 12/4 date pushed back based on this.
akdesertfox, how did you phrase the email? Were you specifically asking about the 992, or did you include the 718 variants (GT4, Spyder, etc) that are also currently stuck in CARB purgatory? I'd assume they're all in the same boat, but you never know.

Make sure you get a 30 day temp tag from your non-CARB state dealer. Hopefully any issues you could run into registering it in your CARB state will be moot 30 days from now.

Truly happy for you, Brandguy, but your situation seems like an outlier. Your non-CARB state dealer disregarding instructions not to sell to CARB state buyers. Doubt it applies to CARB state dealers having access to cars.

Porsche only sells about 900-1000 911's a month to US/Canada.

Awesome! I think the issue for those of us buying from dealers in CARB states is that there is no way for them to get the cars until CARB approval, even if the car is going ultimately to a non-CARB state.

Had I known I'd be moving to a non-CARB state back when I ordered (in March) I may have done things differently :-)

Indeed -- I was thinking the same thing and have a 45-day tag. Figure by then all of us will have our cars, our stickers, and our certifications straightened out. The nightmare scenario that is having to get in line at the NJ DMV at 3 AM not once, but twice.

Why would you be getting in line - why not let the dealer get the tags for you? Yes you would have to run in for inspection but that takes literally two minutes?

It seems clear to me that VAG and PCNA REALLY pissed off the EPA and CARB royally and this is them showing VAG/Porsche not to screw with them if they want to be able to sell their products here.
