I think it's under Kombi, it's near a line mentioning NCAP, not far from the begin of the code lines. It's in English, so it should be easy to spot.

The airbag message appears under Kombi, then Conti (dashboard vendor). That one is further lower, in German. I think I posted the picture somewhere in this thread.

Are keywords the same across analyzers? So if I search for "Kombi" or "seat belt" it will find it whether it's a Launch or PIWIS or... ? Did you manage to get to modify the "overtaking" indicator (from 3 to whatever)?

Kombi is of the modules. If you search fir seatbelt you should find the entry.
The turn signal settings are there somewhere, but I didn't fiddle with it. I also suspect that a full CarPlay screen is also possible to be coded. I manage to turn on android auto (MIB module) but I don't have a newer phone to test it.

Thanks John really appreciate it, will look and see if the Launch is able to do this.

So as I feared, the Launch (with the latest update) sees the "driver seat belt" for example and shows the current value "Active". When you select "Not Active" and hit "Write Code", it says "write failed". Is this like on the VAG-COM that requires a secret code to allow certain mods?

As to some of the rest of the changes I made to the Macan, none are found. I couldn't (using the Macan search terms) find the turn signal mod nor the BCM front electronics (or rear for that matter) to turn on the rear lights with the DRLs (or DDLs as coded).

It's obvious that whatever is coded in one car (Cayenne, Macan and 992) does not necessarily port to another or what is classified in one could conceivably be in another.

What PIWIS version do you have John?

Is this PIWIS 2 or ? Could I ask you if the three items but especially the rear tail light enable with DRLs are seen and modifiable with your PIWIS? This function is available on the Macan as well as far back as the 2010 Touareg, 2015 RS5, I must not be using the right search term. Also if any secret key code needs to be entered

Any help appreciated John, TIA

3.
PIWIS 2 won't work or at least won't code the 992
As far as I know, alternative vendors are very limited at this time regarding coding.

It seems someone has managed to do some of the changes I want (not the BCM one) with a Launch X431 V+. I just sent a mail to Launch China asking them what the difference is between my model and the V+ and if they could at least tell me what those parameters are called. It took me days to decipher that DRLs are actually coded as DDLs (daytime driving lights)...

So buying a new PIWIS 3 will have a software version that will not allow you to code? Do they allow you to reverse updates i.e. go from 39.7 to 38.2 if that's what the latest one comes with?

Mine has a dual boot. I managed to download v40 but I don't want to mess it up as the version I have works decently

Well if you're ever in the neighborhood...beers and salmon on the house!

I'll post if I hear anything from China or someone with an x431 chimes in. Loads of examples in the Cayenne and Macan forum ...

That's true. By now you probably already perused the Panamera section thread on PIWIS.
The guys there understand this whole clone business far better than I. I got mine ready to use. I learned my lesson coding beemers in a past life.

PIWIS resources are vast, but there's a lot to learn on how to activate software. Next task is full screen CarPlay. I activated android auto but I don't have a newer phone to try.

I've been to Alaska, one of the most striking places I've seen. Did the whole touristic thing. White pass, glacier, dog sled, orca watching.

The dual-boot aspect of the newer PIWIS clones seems important. Wasn't there someone who initially used 38.2 to code their 992, with 39.7 not working, and then, after a trip to the dealer where the software was reflashed, the opposite was true? They could no longer use 38.2 due to the closed-loop connection requirement with the mother ship, but 39.7 started working?

It sounds like the Launch x431 is based on the protocols and/or data structures from 38.2 or earlier, so a newer "genuine PIWIS clone" might be able to code features on the 992 that the x431 can't handle yet.

Thanx Noah. I was hoping that the "nomenclature" would be the same across models. By that I mean if to let's say to modify the rear tail lights to be on with DRLs is found on a Macan on Front Electronics (OK, why Front and not back? I guess because the DRLs are in front) then that's where you would find them in a 992 or Cayenne or whatever assuming the car had such a sensor or item.

The only item I found from the list of those that have been done with a Launch on a 992 concerns the seat belt and the x431 found it but couldn't write the new value. This is why I asked whether a secret code needs to be entered like on the VAG-COM where, for example, if you want permanently disable *** on a Q7 you need a secret code to get to those parameters

Hopefully the Launch folks will answer and I will understand the reply - my Mandarin is kind of flaky...
