**** my new 992 has those bolts facing up too. Ugh. What exactly is the best tool to use to remove those top nuts? Last install I saw the guy used a swivel head ratchet. But he had a very hard time on the passenger side. The flexible ratchet extension sounds like a great idea.
@Soul Performance What is the best tool to use for that bolt holding the big clamp that is facing up and very hard to get too?
Here is someone's pic I reused to highlight the bolt I am speaking about.

Look at the problem from another angle, so to speak. The bottom of that bolt is a square drive. (see the attached) I'd use a 12 point socket to turn that bolt, using that square drive. Do this when completely cold and use a bit of WD-40 or penetrating oil of some sort.

Take it easy, take it real s-l-o-w and use some oil. Also, if you have a small wire brush, like they sell (or give away) at Harbor Freight (see attached), use that to clean up the threads as much as you can before you start. In the end, if you snap that square piece off, it's not the end of the world, you'll be no further ahead or behind where you are now. If it snaps off (a big IF) it'll snap off below the threads and it will not damage anything other than the appearance of the bolt.

If I were to use a ratchet, it'd need to be rather small in order to fit in the space available. A 1/4" Drive, Long Handle, Flex Head Ratchet "might" work. I don't think a 3/8" Drive version of this ratchet would fit or have a fine enough tooth pattern to actually "ratchet" in the space allowed. On Amazon for $17.99 with next day delivery. A picture of the one I have is attached.

That is what the mechanic I saw used.

I see you are also in Vancouver. Let me know how the install goes and how it sounds. I'm also interested in this product. I'm worried about engine light if the car isn't tuned (which I'm not planning on).
Also link to where to buy it? And coupon 👀 haha
Thanks

I'm thinking there's two other options:
* Locking pliers on the bottom of the bolt to use as extra leverage (but not alone - I believe 100% there is a high risk of stripping/snapping as mentioned above)
* Trying to get at it from above through the wheel well (I'm not hopeful about this - based on its location, there appears to be other elements in the way from this direction)
