The utter lack of videos with soul cats on 992 is what's keeping me from getting them. There's like two videos out there. No rev videos. No comparison between stock and the cats.
The soul performance videos are terrible. They couldn’t have put less effort into making the videos. They rev the cars from outside a few times, just to hear some cracks and pops (which I don’t care for at all) and also have footage of a 992 driving off on the street from their parking lot, shifting gear at a low rpm. No in cabin audio whatsoever. I’m not plunking down $3k based off that garbage. I want to hear this thing screaming at 7k+ rpms.
If you guys are strictly looking for louder, then I would skip the sport cats. The sport cats open up INDUCTION noises. The turbo spooling sound is mostly what you get from them. They actually seem to make the low speed interior engine noise MORE quiet. I suspect less back pressure helps NOT make the exhaust harmonically hum inside the cabin as loudly.
I do feel my exhaust is somewhat louder at higher RPM. But to me, the biggest change is hearing the turbos spooling way more at low speed.
So if you want more turbo noise, these are the way to go. If you are just looking for louder deeper exhaust. Then these dont do that SO much. Yes a smidge louder and deeper. But NOT much. Again, turbo spool is what you mostly get from these. At least to me.
And I blame the cars engine design not soul for that. Because on the 991.2 soul sport cats sounded BAD *** across the board IMO.
Did you guys give it at least a hundred miles to see if it sounded louder? And I’m not talking about just cruising down the highway but mixed driving and WOT.

Yes. Mine have been on two 992s in 4 months with about 1-2K in miles on mine in total.
The product video you see up was rushed as a placeholder as we were set to do a higher end video out in West Chester farmland, but the owner of the car sold it before we could do so. The problem we have with doing videos in our area is that we're located in a busy suburb with no safe areas to do video within short proximity. We used to film on an isolated, straight farm road to safely do videos on until the farm owner threatened my life. The local police are understanding of our dilemma but regardless we've had enough interactions to where our licenses are on file and fines are always looming every time we hit the road. The doctors office up the road is quick to call the police if we're loud. A lot of the cars do have limited time and mileage to do research and development with. It's always been a struggle for me and on my mind - I went to college for digital media production and have had the pleasure of recording some awesome scenarios in motorsports. I used to have to shoot with a giant heavy 3 chip camera and a lens adapter to use DSLR lenses. The footage would come in mirrored so I'd have try and frame my shots with the preview upside down. Now a phone in my pocket can do the same thing - I should be doing better.
That said, we're bringing more firepower out soon. I've upgraded our recording hardware and have new GoPros so we can get bumper footage and better in car. If anyone is willing to get us footage, I am willing to send you our GoPro and a head mount harness to get some driving footage in different modes. If you want to upgrade to our components and have a professional video done, we're also willing to invest there. I am always open to ideas from enthusiasts who are eager to generate content!

The main benefit of replacing the cats is removing a dense matrix in the flow path of the exhaust flow. This will yield quicker throttle response, more induction / turbo noise, and some power. The scenario of the 992 cats not making as much as a sound difference as the Sport Cats on a 991.2 with PSE is similar to that of the Base 991.2. The base 991.2 rear exhaust is the point of restriction on exhaust sound as it is not valved and muffled at all times, whereas the 991.2 PSE system practically yields straight pipes with valves open. With the design of the 991.2 PSE dual inlets we're also able to favor the primary valves open flow path to increase the flow on valves open and offshoot the valves closed path yielding a greater delta in sound between the modes. Newer cars are getting more and more difficult to produce exhaust components for with increasing emissions components like OPF filters.
If you're looking for more sound we highly recommend upgrading to BMC air filters as well to allow for more induction noise at a great price - under $200.
We will look at the possibility of crafting a more aggressive rear exhaust that can increase volume while defeating drone now that we are coming out of long term 718 GT4 development.
As always we invite you to reach out to us with your opinions, requests, concerns, and qualms. We built this company for you - to build what you want - and input is always welcome.
-Mike

I suggest if you're just buying these for the noise, skip these and get an aftermarket exhaust. The real advantages of the Soul Cats are the reduced back pressure as you open up the airflow by going from 700 CEL cats to 200 CEL. This reduces back pressure on the turbos and actually reduces turbo lag, as the turbos spool up faster. You may or may not notice the difference depending on your driving skills. If you want to move forward and tune your car, this means increasing boost pressure which is another reason to go with 200 CEL cats.

I'm thinking of doing both. I want the reduced back pressure for better throttle response, but not looking for more bass, or baritone sound. I want a higher pitch sound at mid to high RPMs. Also want to minimize drone when and where possible.
Mike - any idea when soul is going to release a 992 sport exhaust or should I just stick with PSE? (I know, I know)

We have an R&D meeting on Tuesday to discuss 2021 projects and this includes the 992! We appreciate the interest, we'll see what we can do!
I'm in the same boat. I want the exhaust to be loud. Coming from NA cars in the past (997.2 gt3, 991.1 c2s), hoping to try and replicate that sound.
Can anyone comment on combo of sport cats and exhaust? Like the capristo or akrapovic sport cats/exhaust combo. How is the sound different? Worth the 8k?
