http://www.porsche-code.com/PMMMM5J9 - I went back and forth on aventurine/brown vs gentian/slate gray and I just went with the gentian. I love that blue.
PS I may have missed ACC in the link above. It is in my build

I saw one dealer had a 2021 Gray Targa 4s in their inventory, indicating arriving soon. Was ~$160K build.

It looks like the lock is on Oct. 21 with the delivery planned for Jan 22nd on the US west coast.
This is my configuration.

Adaptive Matrix lighting appears to still be a leap of faith.

So many great builds, there will be a lot of beautiful Targas on the road!
I previously had a 2016 Targa GTS and I currently have a 2011 Turbo S but I’m being drawn back to the Targa world with the 992. Here is my latest build, I’m trying to stay under $175k. PM5CGEJ0.
I have to go white...should have done that with my 2016. I’m a sucker for white 911s. I have the PCCBs on my Turbo and I love them so I had to check that box. I also want the rear wheel steering just for the freaking cool factor. I had PDCC on my 2016 Targa but don’t feel it is mandatory on the car. Plenty comfortable enough and it isn’t a track car. I checked the FAL box in case I want to lower the car and because my damn Turbo scrapes every time I pull into my garage. It is oem height but does have the aerokit which I haven’t selected on the Targa.
I post a lot in the 997 Turbo forum but you will be seeing more of me as I get ready to return to a Targa. I may wait for the GTS but the 4S has all the power I’m likely to need. Hell, it is just as fast as my older Turbo S!

Would love some feedback, especially on how to make the interior to really pop. I haven't figured out with the selected leather package whether I can get any deviated stitching without spending more.
I'm also curious about the allocation process. As mentioned by others, I negotiated with a dealer in Dallas (not local) and they agreed to 5% discount (while most dealers said MSRP). That was yesterday, today he said we can submit the order. But I don't know if I should expect allocations in the far future or near. I was told I'm the only Targa 4 in their pipeline.
Finally, what is the Targa 4 reference code. Is it still a C4 allocation, or is it T4? I'm not sure I've seen this posted anywhere...
Thanks for everyone's help!

Night blue metallic is beautiful but make sure you have seen a real car in person...it is much darker than it seems on the configurator. Again, I love it but it does not match what you see online. I love the dark blue combo with the black/beige two-tone interior. I have a two-tone interior on my TTS and love it. That by itself will help make the interior pop compared to the sea of black that most of us have.
In terms of value for the dollar my personal opinion is that the premium package is overpriced but that's because I don't want most of the things in it. I don't need power folding mirrors, PDLS is more gimmick than critical in my mind, surround view is not critical on a small car with a backup camera and warning sensors, etc. The only boxes I kept were ambient lighting because the car lighting is very dark otherwise and the Bose. Just make sure you really want all of the things over other options you could select instead. Personally I would ditch the light projectors but that is pure personal preference. I had power steering plus on my 2016 Targa and drove one without it...I would not spend the money again. The car is already so easy to maneuver, it is an unnecessary software upgrade. I have had 18 way sport plus seats and 4 way sport plus seats and unless you will swap drivers a lot and need the memory feature, you can save a lot of money (and some weight) with the 4 ways and still have a very comfortable seat. Try them both in the dealership. If you can get comfortable with the 4way and you aren't changing drivers often, this is good money that could go elsewhere.
Take a look at the lighter trim option and perhaps the brushed aluminum trim as a way of helping the interior pop a bit more...could be a nice match with the silver targa bar.
