Default Sport design Front Lip

Is it safe to assume that the mat black front lip from the upcoming 992 GTS will work as a Sport Design front lip replacement on a regular 992? Would solve the damage issue (cheaper replacement) without needing to get FAL. Plus I think the mat lip looks better than the painted one. Still trying to decide on whether to get Sport Design Package and if FAL is needed.

Agree on the painted front lip not working as well on the 992, so I removed mine (x6 bolts), slipped off easily and wrapped with 3M 2080 satin silk wrap - which is a very close match to the original plastic:

I am pretty sure that the replacement sport design lip doesn’t come painted. So, it would not be hard to get this look.

I wouldn’t make any presumptions about the GTS. It may end up with a different front fascia.

The 991 gen GTS has the unpainted lip while the carrera models get paint one from sport design package. Expect the same with the 992 gen.

More often than not, the painted lip with the 991 is prettier as it creates a wider look. However, indeed, it doesn't quite work with the 992. The same goes to the rear end deflector painted in body color. They should all come from the factory unpainted (matte black) standard.

FWIW, black Plastidip VERY closely matches the color and texture of unpainted black Porsche body panels.

Pic below shows Plastidipped front lip on 997.2 GTS, with unpainted side skirts (the car came originally with painted front lip and these unpainted skirts).

Perfect solution...looks great. Gotta get around to doing the same.

I think the Matte Black wrapped lips are such an improvement on the lighter color cars. Completely takes away that almost shelf like look they can have from certain side angles.

I bought new ones and painted them in matt black. I have the original ones painted in body color. So when I sell the car I einstall the original ones.

I'm currently getting mine wrapped in matte black and applying matte PPF over that section.

Default Front Spoiler Scrape Protection

I installed these protective scrape plates on my previous 718 GTS Porsche with a the optional carbon fiber front spoiler. Easy to install and they worked. I put them on the corners of my 992 front spoiler even though I have axle lift on my car, Highly recommend.

They work well and stay attached. You still must be careful driving on uneven pavement and curbs, but they prevent scrape damage. I applied these over PPF and they stuck like glue.

Here's how the lip looks wrapped in matte black vinyl and matte PPF.
