I thought I was going crazy there for a minute looking at your previous posts! It's cool. Can you DM me your Venmo handle so I can charge you for leading me astray?

Kidding, kidding! No worries, nothing a return to GetPorscheParts can't fix.

PS - Trying to order the correct part for this is about as confusing as it gets, so I can understand the mix up!

Actually...I don't get it. The diagram shows both parts as a part of the Sport Design Package (they are BOTH shown as part 12)...are they both needed to install a new front lip on the SD front bumper??

I dont get it. We only have one lip. I took mine off recently and I didn't see two pieces. Regardless, I appreciate the heads up. I corrected my post above.

Customer service over at getPorscheparts is letting me know they believe that both parts need to be ordered to fit a new SD front lip (!!!). With shipping and handling on the second piece, that's nearly $1,000 for the Sport Design front lip assembly...my stars!

I was planning on buying this to be a sacrificial piece that I wouldn't mind getting scratched up over my ownership of the car, but I might as well just have the front lip repainted down the line. I suppose I could detach the painted front lip and ask my PPF installer to wrap it separately as well, so that if I have to remove the lip it will be easier.

Anyways...RETURNING, for sure.

Isn't one of these black and the other primed for paint? I ordered a primed one for when I inevitably bang up mine.

There are two non-Sport Design variants, both of which are a matte "black" - basically it comes that way from factory, it's like a dull black plastic, but still "good enough" (it's not unfinished as say a primed piece would be). If the SD front lip is anything like the side skirts, then yes - it would come primed (i.e. grey), and definitely needs painted. The SD side skirts I got recently are primed, and the site made note of this. The normal side skirts are the same "black" as the non-SD front lip.

I wish it were more clear on which version each one is - early on, I ordered the "sport" (but non-SD) variant of the front lip to replace my stock one, but scratched it some months later. I ordered a replacement from another site to save a few bucks, and it turns out it was just the original version...

It’s a two-piece assembly. I believe the part you received is this...

Does that black piece come on the car from the factory?

Hasn’t been a problem not having it for me even with the car lowered. I’m careful, but not obsessive. No different than driving one of you GT3’s

Any update on whether or not the lip comes matte black rather than primer colored, and if that secondary piece is needed? It would be nice if the secondary part that comes on the car could be reused. I don't see why that would be an issue.

Bumping an old thread - did the needed parts ever get confirmed? I wrapped my front Sport Design lip in black and it got scuffed up in a spot so I'd like to order a replacement one that comes matte black. Based on the prior posts - it looks like I just want part 992-807-100-G-OK1?
