You’re not going to see a hybrid 911 with currently available battery tech. We’re going to get one with a supercapacitor or solid state battery, because Porsche knows that everyone will revolt if they give us a 911 that weighs more than 4,000lb. This is apparently the reason for the rumored delay.

Well understood 911 buying facts:
- never buy the .1 of a model in the first two years (until they get all the defects sorted)
- never buy a .1 when the .2 is due out in <2 yrs as you'll be outdated immediately
- never buy the .2 in the first two years (see above)
- wait for the GTS
- better yet, wait for the T

When they do a hybrid 911, i think it would be cool if they do something similar. Maybe there could be an “eco” mode that just uses the power for fuel economy (kinda like a Prius), and something like a “sport” mode that would use the power for boost (either automatically or with a button).

3rd brake light refresh would be nice, as most people aren't too crazy about the way it is now.
Really wish they would give it a front hood upgrade to make it more aggressive like a GT3. Doubtful but one can dream.

New 3rd brake light… yes please 😀. The current design doesn’t seem like it will age well. In about 5-10 years (after they’ve redesigned it), I wonder if that vertical light will negatively effect the resale of the 992.1.

I doubt it. That is a matter of taste. A lot of people like the design. I think black wheels will age a lot worse. Oh wait, that’s also a matter of taste as well.

I don't think a simple mid-cycle refresh will do away with one of the defining design cues of the 992 generation.

I definitely don’t see it being a major factor in resale value at any point down the road.

996 prices have shot up despite the headlights being universally panned by everyone. There will no impact to resale here.
The potential change most likely to result in a difference in resale between 992.1 and 992.2 cars will be the introduction of GPF (particulate filters) in the United States.
