I'm definitely confused now. I thought everyone knew the widths are thus... C2 < C4, GTS, GT3 < Turbo, RS. Now we've got people saying they've had 991 GTS cars the width of a turbo and saying people are defensive for disagreeing and accusing people of being new to the brand. Where's the head in hands emoji?

Someone said 4S, GTS and Turbo have never been same width. Not true. The C4S, GTS, Turbo and GT2 all were same width for 997. The C4S, Turbo, GT2 same width for 996 and wider than base. The C2S, C4S and Turbo same width for 993 and wider than base. The 964 widebody same width as 965. The 3.2 M491 same width a turbo and wider than base.
Though I had both .1 and .2 991 Turbos, I have not paid attention to 991 base/GTS models as I simply did not like them and had no interest in purchasing one.

Perhaps I am misunderstanding what you are saying or perhaps a couple of you guys are pretty new to the brand . . . , but I have a 2012 GTS and it is the turbo width without the inlets. I just sold my 991.2 Turbo and I thought, perhaps incorrectly, it was the same width as the 991.2 GTS without the inlets.
When it came out, the allure of the 997.2 GTS was the ability to get a wide body in a RWD configuration ala modern GT2 when it appeared in 996 trim. The GTS in recent years has become a somewhat massed produced, watered down marketing ploy without a true identity designed to generate sales #s late in model cycles. I see/hope that the GTS will mean something a bit special with the 992.
The base model 911s have reached a performance level that is already quick enough for public streets in a straight line and well beyond the limits of the car control skills possessed by 99% of those on here or purchasing them. I think most purchase Turbos at this stage (post 991.1 and now that everything is FI) not for the performance increase, but for the looks. I purchased turbos since the 3.2 days to overcome the anemic low end torque the NA 911s had for city driving and because wide bodies with tails were what 911s were all about throughout the years.
Now that Porsche has made the bodies of the base models C2, C4, C2s and C4S all the same and EVERYTHING is FI . . . I think they will set apart the Turbo and GTXs with wider bodies from the base cars. Also kind of blown away someone would think this green car in OP seemingly in narrow body (non-turbo) trim in OP could be a GT2. I would definitely think GT2 will be in Turbo trim on steroids.

I know for a fact that the GTS width and Turbo width are different on 991 models, and the delta is something like 44 mm. Distinctly different. GTS has same width as C4 models there.
For 992 , who knows what they’ll do but for manufacturing purposes it would make sense that a GTS keeps same width as C4 again.

Thanks. For sure the 997.2 GTS is same width as turbo.
Lol, relax. It'll be alright.

The 991 TTS will always be one of my favorite machines. And the *** is LARGE.
