I got 11% on a base carrera back in May from Chicago. I live in Maryland and the best they were doing was 3-4%.
Flew out and drove the car back.

11% is truly great for a New 2020 in-stock. If you’re ordering, the aim should be 2-4% lower than that depending on your location, as alluded above. Allocations are getting much harder to come by....though I suspect there will be a large wave of 2021s come early next year as things begin to truly ramp up again.

11% is hard to believe unless the car was being used as a demo for test drives.

That's a great deal. I got 8% off and got additional $2000 on my 2019 Jaguar XJL trade in. I picked up my Guards Red today. Enjoy in good health.

Yeah dealership only had 2 open allocations and had to trade for mine...found one and traded a base for an S but yeah he mentioned they didn't get that many new allocations as expected. I think he said Porsche is tuning NA allocations for 2021 and redirecting cars to Europe who are a bit better off economically due to COVID19 and other things right now as well as slowing production a bit for 2021 till things stabilize.

As Ed Bolian would say, I am a shrewd negotiator. I started with 5% discount, they offered 0 discount. We met squarely in the middle at 0% discount Apparently, I suck at negotiating.

It's not that you suck at negotiating. It sounds like you didn't really try to negotiate at all. Did you even call another dealership? With one exception, I've never paid MSRP for any vehicle I've ever purchased. The one exception is my Ford Raptor. They wanted $15k over MSRP and I got it for $5k over and they didn't want to take that offer. The Ford dealership and the local Porsche dealership have the same parent company and I talked to my Porsche salesman and he asked his manager to call the Ford dealership. The salesman at the Ford dealership called me a little while later to tell me: "I guess the Porsche dealership manager told my manager to tell me to tell you that we'll take your offer." Lol. But I only made that deal because I wanted the truck right away. I'm never paying over MSRP again.

In June, I purchased a car at 8.8% off MSRP a nicely equipped C4S they had on the lot. As I was looking nationally, elsewhere I got dealers to offer me 7.5% off MSRP.

Be patient and a little flexible!

I did get 4% on an ordered car which was good for me and my location. Am sure a larger search could have netted a larger one probably but would have required a bit more flexibility on my end probably.

I got 5 %on an order. The sales manager gave it to me.Later talking to general manager he wondered ho I got such a good deal, He said they usually sell at msrp. Everyone is not on same page. Worked out for me.

Where can I get 7-8% discount in NYC area? I am in NJ and willing to travel.

Plus, what kind of discount (%) to expect for a used 2020 4S Cab?

It is practically brand new, very clean, but it is only 10% off from MSRP... and 3 year factory warranty left.

Thanks in advance!!!!

I think you are going to find it very hard to get any reasonable discount in the NJ/NY/Phila area

I have made a lot of calls and bieng offered around 4-5% discount for cars on the lot and 2-3% off builds. Considering any car on the lot is by now at the tail end of the MY 2020 and has already started its value decline the 2-3% build discount is better if you are prepared to wait than the 5% discount on a MY 2020

I think initially Porsche thought that Covid would decimate their sales and there were some reasonable deals to be had but then they realized that cars would not be coming out of the factory as as some sort of crisis relief people were more interested in buying cars now than they had been before and so they stopped offering discounts.

PM me and we can combine forces

Ray Catena in NJ for example has one 911 and this is both in CPO and new.

I plan on ordering sometime in the next 6 - 8 months. I now live in the San Diego area so plan on PEC LA delivery. As such shouldn’t matter what dealer I order from. Any recommendations on dealers offering the best % off on a order?

I always like to give my business to local companies so I will try the local San Diego and Carlsbad dealers and give them a chance. I will order from them if they can get close to something I can get elsewhere. If anyone has a salesperson recommendation from either dealer I’ll take that too.

One of my favorite lines is "you don't get what you deserve...you get what you negotiate".
