The Violet Ace arrived in Houston yesterday, eleven days ahead of schedule, and my car has now been released for transport to my delaer. I'm hoping to take delivery on Saturday. I'll be taking it immediately for PPF as it will be a daily driver. I was not satisfied with the dealer's installer, so I decided to take delivery and make the short drive to my guy who will do a full wrap with no visible edges.

There seems to be a real dichotomy in how these cars are being produced. Once I got my allocation in February, my car has proceeded fairly close to the originally planned dates for its various milestones. My car is PTS so I knew there would be a delay before it started production in July. It was originally scheduled to enter the body shop on July 8; it actually began production on July 27. Planned date for arrival to dealer was originally 9/9 and its looking like it will arrive at the dealer within the next few days. I made no changes in my build after I received my allocation.

In contrast to my experience and I think that of many others, some people are seeing delays of weeks and even months for reasons that are often not readily apparent. I can understand problems due to PCCBs and aerokits, but for some people there does not seem to be an obvious reason for these long delays. Anyway, hopefully my experience will provide some encouragement for others who are waiting on their cars. I'll post pics after I get my car.

Yes my 4 GTS:
Last week my build on TYD went from frozen (on Aug 30) to “unfrozen” (with New freeze Sept 17). Overall various TYD points now are 1-2 weeks later with target dealer delivery going from Nov 11 to Nov 25th.



Interestingly is also my SA sent me a photo of his system screen which shows freeze out to Sept 23 and everything + 2 weeks but generally same delivery (Nov 25).

 

My C4 GTS is V260 today. Planned/expected was Friday (9/16/2022) and it actually started just 3 days later (9/19/2022). Planned delivery to the dealer is October 14. It will go straight in PPF and then to me. I can't wait!!!

Mine came with compression dimples on the rear bumper.

 

Oh man, that stinks. What do you think they are from? I’d be annoyed. You’ll see those every time you wash the car.

 

Not acceptable. Porsche needs to fix them prior to delivery.

 

They are repairing it. But not a pleasant delivery for sure... especially waiting a year for it. Not to mention that I have a major issue having to refinish factory spec paint.

 

I'd say delivery incompetence. But who knows.

Lock date moved ahead by a week. Delivery date moved back a week. The ebb and flow continues.

 

My Targa 4GTS 50th Anniversary Porsche Edition has finally exited the factory and is now sitting at Bremerhaven port.

Does anyone have access to the Bremerhaven ships schedule coming to Latin America?.

My total delay was V200 on May 5th... the V250 on July 27th... V300 on September 15th, and made it to Bremerhaven Port on September 19th.

I just got word that my GTS is finally assigned to the Siem Confucius which is leaving Emden on Saturday. Scheduled to arrive in Baltimore 10/9.

This is outside of the usual Porsche delivery network for cars coming out of the factory. My ED drop off point was in Sindelfingen Germany working with a private company that Porsche contracts. Maybe on a different trajectory compare to cars fresh out of the factory? Total time from drop off to vessel departure: 19 days.
