It is not "fake news" - the article is behind a paywall now, but here is the clip talking about Mercedes and how VAG is OK. But there are still going to be delays, but luckily the VAG berth is available.
The source added: ”At a minimum it will likely mean vessels on the water heading to Baltimore currently will need to be diverted to another Eastern US port. Mercedes-Benz has a large VPC that was impacted, and will look at Brunswick to take up the slack.”
Mercedes-Benz uses the Baltimore port for its finished vehicle logistics, along with other ports in the US including Brunswick and Charleston. A spokesperson for the OEM told Automotive Logistics that the carmaker is in close contact with its logistics service providers and are continuously monitoring the situation. The spokesperson added: ”Together with our transport partners, we continuously review and adapt our supply routes. We have several options available within our flexible supply chain network.”
Volkswagen and BMW also operate terminals at the port, although Inverto, part of Boston Consulting Group said that these can still be accessed.

@ajhun9 You said something interesting: your sales mgr stated he could see that the chip replacement took place while your car was sitting in Emden? If you don't mind, can you ask him where in their internal tracking system he sees that? Hopefully you're on good terms with them and he doesn't mind sending a screenshot over. :-)
For those of us with cars sitting in Emden since ~January and likely had the offending chip, it would be good to know whether Porsche was proactive and replaced them while the cars were sitting idle the past two months. When and if our cars ever make it to the US, at least that's one less delay at the dealership we need to worry about.

I could have been more precise actually. I also read another story tonight that the US Navy has some critical supply vessels backed up behind this blockage.

I just ordered a 2024 Guards Red 4S with a load of options ($173k) including rear axle steering. The build is supposed to freeze around May 16 and the dealer advises I may get the car as early as August 2. That was before the bridge collapse. But if I get it by September I will be happy.

There is definitely some delays happening in Emden. Emden Carrier has docked now for a few days and should have left on March 28th. I'm now looking at Vessel Fnder and it's showing its gonna get to Halifax 5 days later than originally scheduled. Not a big deal but something I've noticed.

Porsche says my 3RS left Emden on 3/21/24, so I guess it must be on the SFL Conductor?? There's no other update. Maybe I should ask my SA. My previous orders always showed up in the web portal but this time no final production photo or ship info.

Welp....ANOTHER black 911. But time and time again, I kept on going back to it. And I personally love the contrasting with the cognac heritage interior. Finalized my C2S build with the dealer, got deposit paid and now the waiting begins. Expected delivery date of July 27th. Ended up going with sport package with the 3 pedals, high gloss black everything on the exterior, heritage interior.
