Official waiting room for those with a new 992 on order --- come on in !!
On a happier note, Siem Cicero has docked in Halifax and is due into Davisville, RI on Thursday.
Have we ever confirmed (through an actual delivery to a customer) that cars produced during February do not have the chip replacement issue and are being delivered on time?

My car is on Amethyst Ace. My first thought when I saw the alert this morning was "oh no my boat hit a bridge"
But honestly, there are people with much bigger issues this morning. I don't do prayers, but my thoughts are with them.

My previously delivered 2014 911 and 2017 Turbo were both delivered to Davisville and went to Maryland and Pennsylvania dealers respectively. Not sure when Baltimore became the port for Porsches for that area, but perhaps Davisville could once again be the temporary port for cars going to these areas?

I think you're find if got car is going to Baltimore as the bridge is AFTER the VW pier. I'll post a picture that I took just last week. What's funny is I was flying in for a connection Monday evening (Mar 18th) and the SFL Composer left that morning. I was actually hoping it was delayed so I'd be able to see it!
I basically flew right over that bridge and the picture I took shows the VW Pier and literally just outside of the frame is the bridge, and the upper corner. On the left you can see a big white building which is the Amazon building which if you look on a top-down map you'll see how close that was to the bridge.

My 992 C4S is in the production phase and due in Tucson May 31. I'll keep you posted on any delays. Question. What is the banned chip that has held up delivery of previously manufactured Porsches? I'm a little miffed that my 2024 won't have a memory steering column as did my 2020 C4S.

What a thread!
My tracker on the Porsche site doesn't show the position of the boat but I've been able to deduce that my 992 C2S appears to be on the Glovis Companion based on a 3/13 port depart from Emden, a US/Benecia arrival date of 4/9, and a 4/26 delivery in Bellevue, WA.
The car was completed on Feb 9....its getting close!

Unsurprisingly, shipping via the port has been suspended. Albeit short of the bridge, I'd be very confident the VW facility falls under that suspension order given general proximity. Wonder if Davisville and Jacksonville can become alternates - there must be some level of port closure contingency planning.

Whatever their "plan B" is, they need to implement it ASAP - because the issues with that bridge and related port operations, will be affected for YEARS. This isn't a 1-2 month disruption.

My delivery was pushed back a month this past weekend to late May. No explanation. SA contacted PCNA twice and was only told "something to do with Exclusive interior - no details available". We only spent the thousands extra to get a black dash with chalk seats. If there had been notice of delays with that option I would have ordered black with contrasting seat centers and saved some money. Of course, after today's tragedy it's unclear when we would have received the car anyhow.
I did get an email a few minutes ago saying their slip in Baltimore is before the bridge but I can't imagine there won't be major disruptions there for months if not years.

I would be shocked if Amethyst Ace will be allowed to dock. Like you said, Sparrows Point is south of the bridge but I’d expect there to be a large perimeter closed off for rescues and repairs. My car is on Amethyst Ace but I doubt my car will be delivered as expected in Colorado.
I hope everyone impacted by the crash will be safely rescued

My condolences for those who lost loved ones in Baltimore.

Good news!
FRANKFURT (Reuters) - Volkswagen on Tuesday said its port operations in Baltimore were unaffected by a local bridge collapse due to the location of its facilities. "We do not anticipate any impact on vessel operations but there may be trucking delays as traffic will be rerouted in the area," the carmaker said in an e-mailed statement.

I didn't have the schedule and forgot about the Jacksonville stop. Well maybe you will be getting your car a little ahead of schedule. I doubt they will let any ship traffic into Baltimore port and close off a wide area for search and rescue. They aren't going to just leave the Amethyst Ace sitting there waiting months for the port to open. Most likely they will either head to an alternate location or just move on to their next location and skip Baltimore deliveries or off load them in Jacksonville.
