Car had the correct build specs, so I think they had the right car. And I used the commission number from the initial "broken" car to add the "working better" car back in to My Porsche, so that should link to the same car.

I agree something was way off, but that was far from the only thing messed up during this process, and I am far from the only person with these odd issues.

Dealer just contacted me and said my car is on truck!! Finally after 3.5 weeks at Davisville.

Ps. TYD has not updated and still shows the car is at the port.

The app does show future dates, or at least mine does. If you go to Discover current phase, then scroll to the very bottom past where your car production photos are, there’s a button named Discover all steps. It shows the same date estimates as the TYD website.

When I do that, the future steps show “Not Scheduled.” Even though the website has always had future dates.

Just got confirmation from Porsche NA that my car is still in RI port and has NOT cleared customs yet. Been there about 9 days… could be here in 1 day or 1 weeks from now according to them…ugh so close but so far

People love to complain about the TYD software here but i have to believe it is far less than 1% of all Porsche customers that ever interact with it so i'm just glad they give us something. Its actually not a particularly easy product to deliver well either with both web and app interfaces. So I"m sure its a terribly underfunded effort which is why its so buggy but I've had fun tracking my car through the build so I'm glad they give it any budget at all

@Sam L I recommend that you don’t click “confirm vehicle ownership” in the email just yet. If you do, all of your subscriptions will start running from today’s date instead of the date you actually take delivery of the car. That happened to me with my Panamera so now I know. As much as I want to click it lol

I agree. However, when I said basically, the same thing, I think I irritated a bunch of people here.

Thumbs up

For those of us who have west coast deliveries and are on the Neptune Barcelona, it should be entering the Pacific momentarily and on its way to Ecuador. Not sure where it goes after that.

From earlier this morning. The middle locks in the Panama Canal:

The locks going out to the Pacific:

Huge ship!

I think as a rule that you should deliver the functionality that you can afford to do well. So, for example, do we really need a map that purports to track your car's transport ship as it crosses the ocean (but is wrong in multiple ways)? Instead (and to your point about the 1%), just show a list of projected dates and, when the car leaves the port at Emden, add the ship name to that line so the 1% can track it on their own using tools that actually work. Optionally include a boat tracking link on ShipInfo.net or similar free service. Much less expensive, so you could spend the money that you would have spent on the map on things like better email and date management.

It's 2023 - the bar for an acceptable website is not what it was 10 or 20 years ago, and the TYD website does not reflect well on the Porsche brand.

Sorry about the ranting, but I've had a long career in IT and this kind of "flash over function" crap really irks me.

I feel your pain as you know mine just left today after 3.5 weeks.
I think the Davisville port is slow compared to other ports where cars and moving in / out fairly quickly within days.

Good thing is that your car wont have any missing components that hold it up at port since its a euro delivery car.

As a data point, my TYD email just came 5 hrs after my dealer informed me.
The delivery date still shows as 7/3 but guess that will update once the car touches dealer grounds.
