have used these in both silver and black.
Thanks! Do you have to get the dealer or Indy shop to sync with car? Or will I be able to get them working on my own.

Any close up pics of the black? Are they gloss or matte?

thanks!

Quick question.. I'm in the process of ordering a set of Vossen HF-5 for my C2. Now I have some choices to make regarding sizes. Options:

8Jx20 with 245/35/20
11Jx21 with 305/30/21

or
9Jx20 with 245/35/20 or 255/35/20
12Jx21 with 315/30/21

What are the pro/cons of going for either one of these? I don't track the car and I do like a 'chunky' rear wheel. I think the 315 might hide the stance of PASM better? Any advice please

Your first choice are narrower rims than stock (8.5/11.5 -> 8/11) and I see no reason why you would do that. The second is just slightly wider and I would use the 255/315 tire combo as that is better suited for these 9/12 widths rims. They do fill out the wheel well a little more but its a small change (0.3"/7mm front and 0.2"/6mm rear diameter change, aka wheel well fill out is half of that) and barely recognizable on stock suspension. More important is you pick the correct offsets! There are a lot of details and suggestions about that in these thread but I assume Vossen also has a recommended offset that should make it look good (less tug than OEM).

PS: Some other thoughts. I decided to pick OEM width of rim and tires and just customized the offsets. Reason - the 305 have plenty grip for street use and the way our cars are designed they hide under the fender well so that you will not really see any difference between 11.5 on 305 and 12 on 315. However, what you will get is more weight - wider rims, wider tires add some weight and for performance and appearance reason I do not see a real benefit to do that ..again more important to pick the right offset and nobody would be able to tell you run 11.5 with 305 or 12 with 315. For the front, the wider you make them the more you are penalizing steering/handling. But 255 vs 245 I doubt you will recognize a difference. Lastly, check what tire sizes are more available as you could put yourself in a corner with dimensions were you end up with very few choices and more expensive choices. Staying with OEM helps a little here too as there are multiple choices available to support it.

F= 9x20 ET45, R= 11.5x21 ET60. Wheels are flush to the fenders. Any wider and the wheels/tires would extend beyond arches. I also don't have any intention of lowering.

Beautiful setup! I'm likely doing the exact same with my GTS, although I have five lugs. Would love to see a couple of shots of the concavity of the wheels.

Default Steel wheel design with performance?

Hello and thanks for entertaining my naive thinking. I'm going a different direction than what is traditional thinking for the Porsche from what I've seen recently. I don't know much about wheels other than the lighter the better and in my opinion, improves stance. I'm not a flashy guy and don't need to command attention at a light or entertain conversations about what brand of wheel. I don't care about showing off massive rotors and flashy brake calipers. Understated is my thing. That said, I'm conflicted by an endless need for a better stance. Wide rear tires and a concave side profile matter to me. I rendered a bit of what I'm looking for.

I feel it fits the car and won't take away from the overall lines of the 4S. Tho I appreciate the looks of the aftermarket wheels I've seen, sometimes I feel the wheel is so dominate (large and bright), it puts the car secondary and doesn't have a cohesive theme. Do wheels exists that look like cheap steel tractor spec but perform as well and can be as wide as the 22-21" and 335 width tire I'm looking for? Not joking. LOL

I don't know about such tractor style but they probably exist. The Rotiform you show are in that direction but they sure are more in the "flashy" design vs the understated design you like. They just don't show as much as they are black and black wheels just in general hide a lot of the details. In terms of concavity - you are limited by the car design. Unfortunately, like many German car brands, our cars require rather large positive offsets to fit all OEM parameters (brakes, struts, fenders) ...the larger the offset and with limited width you can go based on fender and struts there is only so much concavity you can get. To get a lot more you need to think about wide body kits.

Anything close to a bronze Volk TE-37 with centerlock or will I need to get Rays to commission me a set?

I thought I have seen a special version for Porsche but only up to 19"...cant find it now. But have you looked at Advan GT Porsche special editions... these were my close second choice.

We can have HRE make their C106 in centerlock for 992 GTS in any fitment and color combo that you want. It's a 3-piece wheel so if you order the same color for the center face and barrel it'll look similar to a 1-piece TE37. Picture of C106's below.
