I've got a Targa GTS allocation that locks next week.I'm trying to decide what wheels to spec--I'm not crazy about any of the GTS options.
Looking at your car makes me think maybe I will spec the Carrera 5 lug wheels and get them powder coated. I'd rather not have to deal with the CLs.
If he did the work at your house, how did he apply the paint? I assume it was regular paint and not powder coat.

Socalsharky, it was regular paint. He has a truck and he did everything inside the truck (it had ventilation and he hooked up to my power and water), pretty wild. Once he took off the wheels he was in his truck for probably 4 hours (once or twice he checked with me on how the color looked). After he installed I just had to wait a day or two I think it was before driving. I would imagine you could find someone like that too--I would look for mobile wheel repair companies. I'm with you on the CL wheels, didn't want them. Someday I am going to get nicer wheels but these will be fine for a while. Good luck.

Which Forgeline wheel is that?
What ultimately made you choose the HRE set that you have over these?

Those appear to be Forgeline VX1R's.

You kept the 21s on the rear and up sized the front only?

I ended up going with HRE P101SC on that car. I chose the HRE because it had more elaborate machining and is lighter weight. HRE also offers a huge range of customization options with finish, etc.

Yes. The wheels were made for a Panamera.

Thinking Forgeline as well. Wondering how SS1R 5 lug painted in satin gunmetal would look on a Carrera White Metallic car. Can’t really find any images with them on any vehicle.

For those that have gone aftermarket, can you please send over a link to the TPMS sensors you've successfully used (non-OEM)?

I plan to keep the tires on my Spyders - so will not be using the factory installed TPMS,

Just ordered the Vossen S17-06 one piece in denim blue. Looking forward to seeing how they turn out. Was told six to eight weeks, should be plenty of time in case issues arise to have them by spring.

Good you ordered early....I order in Dec and took delivery in July. One-peice in a solid finish will definitley speed things up.

What colour is your vehicle...should be unique with blue denim.

Yah want to give plenty of lead time since I’m using my stock rims as winters. It is Carrera White Metallic. Also wanted something a bit different from the usual colors. I have a white Tacoma with dark blue wheels and I really like how it turned out. Figured I’d stick with the theme, this is a textured finish so that could be interesting.
