Very true. Correction is typically needed to some degree. Interesting though, PAG wants a cut of the PPF that is typically applied. I mean why not? Will take away extra points from dealer installed PPF and 3rd party installers I'm sure. My guess is you can likely CXX PPF for the entire car.

I'm surprised people actually use the gear lever. It is interesting because nobody I know uses it, yet a lot of people on this forum say they do.

I can't find that - where do you see it?

I was speculating about the same 4 years ago. Most likely Turbo uses the same engine as the current Turbo S or something like that, and Turbo S goes hybrid-assist. Or they could just make the entire Turbo line-up hybrid - use the same 3-liter engine and add more power via hybrid tech. Saves them some money. Anyway, I'm sure they will not screw it up. It's just not great to see cars getting heavier. A great thing about 991 was that we got a lot in terms of features and size with little to no weight increase for similarly equipped cars. Then 991.2 turbo engine in Carrera's added more weight, and now 992 adds more on top of that.

I kind of like the way the car has evolved, but not too much. If the car isn't different enough, there's no point in having a new generation. The added weight is unwelcome, but I guess they couldn't avoid it and we have to just live with it. I don't really mind the small gear lever for road use, though I do sometimes use the lever in the GT3 on track when in manual mode and my hands aren't lined up with the paddles.

I read that Porsche made something like $4.8 billion profit last year, averaging around $17K per car, and I bet the 992 cars will continue to fuel the bottom line.

Looks good to me. If they can keep the weight down on the GT3 and offer an NA manual, I'm there. Everyone always complains about new generations being ugly when they first come out, but then end up purchasing later on. It happened when the 991 came out and will keep on happening every generation.

FTFY. I'm sure plenty of people who criticized prior debacles like the 964 and the 996 didn't go out and buy one. I know I left Porsche when the 996 came out and didn't return until the 991.1 was released. I'm gone again with this bloated mess, likely forever as I can't imagine Porsche ever going back to building simple sports cars again given the direction they, and the industry/society is headed.

Also, given how much trouble Porsche has had with putting protective tape/paper on the cars too early for transport and spotting the paint, who would trust that the paint had fully cured and outgassed before they filmed it?

I'm getting an impression you don't like the odd wheel sizes...

New key words "As long as it is competetive in Racing" - did anyone else catch that?

I suspect many people! Not all 911 buyers know about PPF and the points you mention. Majority don't.
