GT car thoughts with ugly/portly 992 release
So 992 is 50-75kg heavier than 991.2. This really puts AP in a bind to develop something special. Those wanting a lighter car without a carbon tub are in a fantasy world. And what about RS 992 which will almost surely be hybrid. It will be over 3700-3800 lbs. This really seems like a poor update not to mention that the interior is horrible!! Will be an interesting update cycle. Even with 530 hp 992 GT3 will need something else if it is plus 50-75kg to make any real performance gains.

I need to see it in person. Exterior has potential. Interior idk. Maybe in person it works, but i am skeptical. Much more tech, heavier, so thinking turbo could be a reality now. I am sure it will be much faster.
When approx. will the 992 GT3 be announced?

I'll be going to the LA Auto Show to see the 992's tonight, can't wait. I already don't like the front bumper and the taller/wider/heavier theme. And if the 992 GT3 turns out to be a porker, then we should all buy up the remaining 991.2 GT cars fast. Is this a good reason for the wife to get another GT3???

Being a G-series owner I appreciated the styling nods with the full width tail lamp, squared off hood, front bumper, center dash vent and flat dash panel. I love the streamlined rear slope and the massive flush mounted air brake of a spoiler.

I think we should see the quality. Concept and increased display size are plus for me. But my cleaning lady was telling me that the VAG philosophy took over strongly and even a 1 EUR savings were discussed heavily. I was actually shocked when I found out that in Macan the driver and front passenger seats side cushion (in between middle dash) was not leather, but textile in a leather seat car.
I hope PAG will remember that many is buying a Porsche as it is bringing best quality in many dimensions.

992 new rear design now homogenize across model lines with light bar , so the unique 911 now neutered to blend into modern/current Porsche product line,
one body saves on production cost yet price increase , key still left of wheel so that will help you win the Le Mans .
We will see if GT cars looses the new light bar rear logo look , hope so

Two green exterior color choices (although lizard and aventurine are not my favorites, at least there are greens to choose from now) and you can once again get green leather, this time in club style (which is really nice), and truffle brown leather is also an option. I wish those options were available on 991.2 GT3.
The bulk of the weight gain is 8 speed PDK and the particulate filter so maybe the GT car can stay NA and manual and not get too portly.

I actually really like the front of the car, very 993 to my eyes. The rear may take some time to grow on me but that light bar screams “tron legacy”. The interior is as expected, much more panamera/macan.
I too will be quite interested in the 992 GT products, I’m sure the weight will be quite a bit heavier than previous models but one thing we can be sure about is they will perform better. A hybrid system can hide the weight of the car a bit with its instant torque but I’m still skeptical.

I heard March 2020 for a possible 992 GT3 announcement. Porsche's primary goal with the 992 GT3 is to beat the 991.2 GT3's 7:12 Ring time. Along the way, the challenge will be to improve the 992 GT3's handling, road manners, balance/stability, aero and overall performance vs. the 991.2 GT3. I am certainly looking forward to see how Porsche achieves this using a NA engine (and possible 6 or possible 7 MT)!!

the interior reminds me of Panamera interior which has too many touch screens which personally I didn't like .Will reserve final judgement till I see it in person
as far as weight gain
they can shave a fair amount of weight by using more CF
? CF doors
? CF wheels
