Sad if this is the best they think they can do.
agree. Truly sad. Particularly since these These cars will sell in China and also in Europe/US to buyers who would otherwise just buy a jag, or Mercedes coupe to drive to office.

Regular 911s are no longer designed with enthusiasts in mind which is why I will never again purchase a new Porsche that isn’t a GT car.

Someone tell me how a well integrated third brake light in the 991.1 and 991.2 can turn into a nightmare like this??

WTF??

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Change for the sake of change.

The automotive design world must be having a lot of laughs at many of the 992 details.

We heard, "wait for the finished product"

You'd think would be the article title for the new Cayenne not a 911. Pretty much says it all.

The 992 makes the 991 look downright gorgeous.

Why hasn't he risen from the Rennlist dead as, say, "PG-13 Rated?"

Maybe since the 3.4/3.8 vs 3.0tt has shifted to the new shiny 992 the mods could let him back on a probationary period?

The head designer wants to make his legacy known before his retirement.

New 992 is like Trump. What you saw on the campaign trail (spy pics) is what you get.

I like the thing. Saw it in LA yesterday.

Dislikes:
Shifter - obvious, but given how rabid the base is they were probably afraid to just get rid of it altogether which they should have no doubt
piano black inserts - will certainly be changed in .2, easy aftermarket fix coming also i'm sure
Steering wheel- again, certain will be fixed in .2 release. Just needs the heft of the current one
3rd brake light- Makes sense after I saw the original drawings. The designers envisioned them as incorporated into the middle cooling slats, only lights. Engineers then made them what they actually are.

Likes- Just about everything else.

I sat in 2 of them and think the interior feels high quality (except for above notes)
I still feel like I am in a 911
I love the wide hips in the side mirror view
The sport chrono looks much better
Center tach looks awesome
Screens are super high res
toggle switches feel substantial with a nice solid click
Seats feel great
Like the fabric seat pulls way better than the plastic ones
Trim looks great, almost mid century modern-esque

Exterior-
Side view looks GREAT
Sorry to another poster but the door handles do NOT feel flimsy, quite the opposite as they reach out to meet your hand, feel solid
I have no issue with the front view in person, looks good to me
Frunk is slightly larger than 991.2
Rear looks great to me (except as noted above)
Looks meaner and wider (I know it is)
Looks better all around to me than my 991.2
Sorry- I could care less that the tips aren't connected anymore. Tips are only decoration anyway, who gives a crap. Not like fake exhaust sound.

Slight weight gain sucks but such is progress in the auto industry with all of the safety, efficiency, nannies, etc they feel must be included to stay relevant. Maybe they should be applauded that even with the gain the performance numbers equal or better the last GTS

I will be putting my order in without hesitation

Thanks for your detailed comments. I rest my case since you own 991.2. I still think they should have left the door handle and sport mirrors unchanged. I really doubt door handles makes any difference in aerodynamics, maybe at 150 mph.
