Could the S/T suspension program not be programed into an extra DSC controller directly and the boxes swapped out rather than having to do this live? I would love to do this but would prefer to be able to swap out the controller at any time.

  • Current version of PIWIS or clone with internet connection
  • >100w power supply
rnlst_log will remote in and take care of the rest.

Thanks!

If there’s a late August batch coming together for NorCal, I’m in.

Just a quick clarification - you need a 100 AMP power supply with adjustable voltage - not 100 WATT. Best to have one that adjusts from 12V - 15V - I always operate at 14.5V while programming. 100AMP is a bit of an overkill, but it's what Porsche recommends. . . I've seen 75A draw though - so it will draw more power than you think it should. This is the one I use and really like - small and easy to move around:

Here's a decent deal on the Clore unit:

I noticed that Walmart has a decent deal with similar pricing from JB Tools as well.
$475.49 for the PL6800.

I think that may be possible, however when you add a new (not previously seen) module, you may need to have a reconciliation step, likely needs PIWIS to do that...not 100% sure. I know I had to do that in my Quad Guilia (I know different system completely but same concept)...

All the ECUs are VIN matched - not sure if we can program remotely with a "different" VIN - I had discussed this with Mars - we are planning to do a test of this concept sometime soon, and will advise outcome.

In the 991's you used to be able to swap out the DSC controller which was behind the rear seat without any VIN coding. I looked into doing this in my RS but I never did. Apparently no one has been able crack the encryption in the 992's to rewrite the coding but you guys seem to be directly copying the S/T program which I assume isn't requiring any rewriting of encrypted code.

Just curious, is there a way to activate the "snow chain" mode that disables the the RWS but keeping all other settings in Sport or Track?

On the topic of ST programming features that carry over to GT3, I can officially now say that programming the active spoiler to ST settings is possible. Thanks to @rnlst_log for the time today getting the rear spoiler module updated to the ST version. Now the wing will not go up until after 80mph and it goes back down at 60 or so. It also does not deploy as high as stock programming so it’s not very visible when up. This works in both normal and sport mode with no errors.

Previously making any spoiler changes would incur a spoiler error at 70mph and any changes only applied while the car is in normal mode…who wants to drive in normal mode? Well problem solved!
