From 2025 Recaro will manufacture also the coupe foldable version.
Correct, the RECARO Sport C currently does not have a quick release function to drop the back of the seat for easy access to the rear.

However, the Sport C does not have a carbon fiber option... All of RECARO's carbon fiber seat options are fixed shells without recline.

I think the current LWB seat is made for Porsche by Lear (Recaro was the OEM supplier in the past)...

Recent reports have been that hybrid will be its own model, and that manuals will not be available with hybrid. At least for 992.2, expect the hybrid to stay with the “e-hybrid” badged 911 and at most perhaps a Turbo e-Hybrid.

I bet base model & t remain 3L twin turbo (manual or PDK), gt3 remains 4.0 na (PDK/manual) and rest becomes hybrid turbo 3.6 with PDK only.

​​​​​​Doesn't make sense otherwise just by current performance levels. Gt3 will be on the rather "weak" side of the range, especially looking at torque of turbo and hybrid assist. So what...

Porsche is always improving their ‘Ring times. Can that be done with carrying over the NA 4.0.

We will see.

I don't think the 992.2 GT3 will be much faster. A little more aero, a token more hp, better suspension will likely give a few seconds on the ring. And the 992.2 isn't required to be a lot faster, it's just an update.

Of course they can improve the time. Just a matter of how much. If they take the RS engine (+15hp), ST/RS lower gearing, better aero, suspension improvements, a little weight loss (rumored Weissach package with Mag wheels) this will make for a faster lap.

The 991.2 was much faster than 991.1 (but a good part of that was the first use of Cup2R tires on the GT3, as well growing the engine from 3.8L to 4.0L).

But I think Porsche is running out of ways to make the GT3 faster if they don't increase displacement or add hybrid or turbos, none of which is likely to happen with the .2. More aero should make it a little faster on a lap, but slower on straights; it doesn't look like the aero will be close to the current 3RS. They're already using Cup 2R. Better suspension (closer to 3RS) should help.

Porsche builds each GT car to a specific Ring time.

It's almost like they do it backwards.

They start with a Ring time, then design a car to match that.

It's the kind of myopia that is both fascinating and frustrating. From a customer's perspective, that is.

It's kind of asymptotic though.

There are limits to how wide you can make the tracks, how long you can make the wheelbase, how light you can make the car, how low you can make the CG.

Suspension can be made better, but at some point it's as good as it can get with respect to keeping the tires gripping the pavement and controlling body motion of the car.

You can make the tires grippier, but then those tires can be used on the older cars too.

You can keep increasing aero, but at some point the drag in the straights is more penalty than the grip gained in braking and corners. At some point, you MUST increase power, and that means these simple NA engines with modest displacement aren't going to get you there. Once you add a lot of power, you can add more aero and you're really off to the races. But once you put hybrid or turbos in it, it's a different kind of car.

So when is the right estimate of the reveal date and production date?

If we look at 991.2 and 992.1, the data says as follows:

991.1
  • Carrera revealed in September 2015 and deliveries from March 2016.
  • GT3 revealed in March 2017 and deliveries from August/September 2017?

992
  • Carrera revealed in November 2018 and deliveries from March 2019
  • GT3 revealed in February 2021 and deliveries from May 2021

So for the 992.2 my estimate would be:
  • Carrera reveal in July 2024 and deliveries from December 2024.
  • GT3 reveal in December 2025 and deliveries from May 2026?

That seems very far out. Anyone want to add light to this? I also may be wrong with some data.

The plain .2 GT3 used regular Cup 2's albeit N1 spec whereas the .1 had N0. The track improved quite a bit in lap time in between gens. The RS did go to the 2R tire and gained a lot. However 992 GT2 did use the 2R which makes comparing to the 991.2 a bit tricky. There's still track evolution as well.

992 RS is already diminishing returns over the 991.2 variant even with those massive wings on it - at least on the Nurburgring, very track dependent.

I think the 992.2 will need a power/torque bump from somewhere and as we can see from the current RS they are struggling to take the old 4.0 any further. They can move this engine into the next GT3 but for the RS they'll need more. The RS already feels a bit underpowered on the straights given how nailed to the ground it is.
