I chose a wing car, but, a touring chose me.

I don't have any real info, but willing to speculate that the lifespan of the current 6spd manual must be pretty limited. If the GT3 becomes hybrid or turbocharged, then I think the torque limit of the current gearbox will be easily exceeded (I think its torque limit is probably lower than the 7spd manual used in the Carrera models and Sport Classic (the torque in this model was dramatically reduced to even work with the 7M). I am not aware of any hybrid nor EV that uses a manual either, but that could be an interesting niche at some point in the future...

same here, also speculating, but assuming a speedster comes in the .2 cycle with MT (can’t imagine it happening otherwise), we should be safe for the near future, no?

Most (not all) rumors seem to indicate relatively minor powertrain changes for 992.2 GT3

Not exclusive to the 992.2 GT3 but does cover it. Very interesting video.

It seems the 992.2 will be unveiled in December 2024. This is actually sooner than I expected to be honest. I guess this is the winged version and I have no info at all if there is any hybrid assistance added to the mix.

If it ICE only the there is a high % that this is the last ICE only GT3 911 to be released.

The mules at the Ring lack the yellow sticker, and it would be a major change to the setup to add hybrid assist mid cycle.

Regarding the 994 being hybrid, I’ll take that bet.

Porsche went from NA to FI in the mid-cycle refresh of 991.1 to 991.2.

Not saying it will happen, just saying that it wouldn't be unprecedented.

https://www.carmagazine.co.uk/spy-sh...che/911-992-2/

According to this, the first 1500 992.2s will keep the NA 4.0 but then they'll switch to a hybrid 3.6

A few articles popped today about the 992.2 writ large:

https://www.evo.co.uk/porsche/911/20...be-electrified

https://www.motor1.com/news/712023/p...-summer-debut/

https://www.motorauthority.com/news/...ts-this-summer

It appears change (good or bad depending on your perspective) is afoot...

Cheers.

I think the 992.2 GT3 will remain NA and non-hybrid. The 992.2 3RS, and especially the 2RS, will need a significant power increase. The 2RS can get there with turbos. The 3RS may need some electric boost.

I think the hybrid 911 is GTS not Turbo S. Its been confirmed by multiple GMs who visited Stuttgart in recent past. The mules we have seen with hybrid powertrain had the non Turbo S rear be it either fixed wing or no wing.
