The GT3 is in my opinion the best “sensible” sportscar money can buy.

For some reason I like to often watch the below Chris Harris video about his 991.2 touring - by the way he has now driven over 70k miles.

There is a guy in Canada who has 38k miles on his 2022 PTS Touring. IG: scarfonephoto

Glad he is enjoying it!

I recall he sold his 992.1 touring and kept his 991.2
i think he had some engine issues with 992.1

I think only Harris knows the full story on that. He did a reel complaining about not getting a GT4RS allocation and sold the 992 because he couldn't keep both it and the 991.2 and decided to keep the latter. It was a bit of a temper tantrum, but he does have an emotional attachment to that particular yellow car, which was a big factor.

Ironically, GT4RS are now way cheaper than they were back then and pretty readily available as CPO.

Poster in the 992 forum that saw the docs last years has said 520bhp for 992 GT3. He has the bhp of 3 cars exactly right so it should be pretty accurate.

Regarding the turbo (non s), more nice info:

Normal production car - not a heritage or numbered car, not a hybrid and manual. Actual the 2 unknowns now are bhp and if pdk will be optional

That makes perfect sense. RS motor with 5hp less to keep things in check. Unless you really mean bhp (because Porsche usually goes by metric horsepower, PS)…

Everybody is asking the same questions and seems many people are reading individual forums only. So I have updated each main discussion on the 992.2 in each of the 3 992 forums.

are we sure the manual turbo isn't limited? about 9 months ago i heard that the manual turbo would be offered only on the first 1975 992.2 turbos or something like that to commemorate the 50th anniversary. this would fit the heritage roadmap and all the turbo 50 marketing porsche has been doing. the gt2 is a separate thing, unlimited (but limited) like any gt product.

i am very curious to see what they do for a manual transmission, especially in the gt2

GT2 won’t be manual. They’ll have to detune the Turbo to meet the torque spec of the gearbox (as they did with the Sport Classic), as I don’t see them coming out with a new stronger 7spd manual (especially irksome to SC buyers, if they did).

With the new 992.2 GTS hybrid producing over 500ps, the 992.2 Turbo at a mere 550ps (SC level) is not that special. With a heritage interior & pts, will be very much the SC (sans ducktail) in all but name.

Just so much overlap between the many models. Porsche trying to burst the overs bubble on the higher priced limited editions, as they did so some extent with the 911R.

As the 911 msrp keeps rising, supply increases & range widens, have to ask if saturation point is ever closer & days of very strong residuals for all Porsches are coming to an end. The back catalogue looks more attractive by the day.

They may be able to set the power a bit above 550PS, but it's the torque where they really need to curtail it from Turbo levels (gearboxes are limited by torque, not power - but of course they are dependent variables).
