Remember that Porsche dropped out of LMP1 to go race in Formula E - where they got beat by a customer team last season! - and build electric cars.

Porsche has not won a non-spec / non-BOP race since 2017.

Do you think anyone will be paying less than $250K for one of these? Options, tax.

Maybe with the NEXT facelift they can compete with the $90K Plaid!
had to check my calendar to make sure it wasn’t an April fools joke. Who is this car for?

it’s for the dealers that don’t want to charge direct ADMs for the GT2RS

It’s all laughs until someone shoves this motor into the chassis of a Bev cayman. Porsche only needed 2 motors to compete with the Plaid’s 3. This sedan is only half a second slower than a Senna around Leguna. Chop off 1000# and zoom zoom.

it’s going to be a great car decade

this car is to tell Elon he can go **** himself, Porsche owns the Ring. That’s all. It’s really much more interesting as a harbinger for the next round of EVs and their tech.

The TTS is moving up market in price, and cross shops with a bunch of other things like the MC20 and the Artura, to say nothing of the next generation of exec sedans that’ll compete with the power output of the taycan. A 725hp TTS still won’t beat a 700hp artura in power to weight. Cars are getting heavier. Need more power just to stay the same.

I already own one pig (Taycan) and will swap into another pig (Macan EV) so I have zero want and desire to own another pig of car as one of my "fun" cars. I guess I'll be done buying new GT cars pretty soon, one more allocation for someone else.

I am no Elon fanboi by any means. I have never had a long (or short) position in TSLA, and if I wanted to buy an EV, I would probably not pick a Tesla.

Don’t get it twisted, Elon owns VAG. They make EVs because of him. They bet their entire business on EVs because of Elon. Herbert Diess wanted to be like big daddy Elon (until he got fired for the Cariad mess).

If Porsche were serious about EVs, they wouldn’t be using off the shelf supplier components and announcing their ridiculous top dog super duper special car (that has 4 doors and 2 seats) that doesn’t move the game on from the Plaid or the Lucid Sapphire.

I didn't realize the Turbo GT was a 2 seater. What a dumb choice.

It's only a 2 seater with Weissach package. Regular Turbo GT is 4 seater

It will be a great car for Jeff Zwart and other Porsche Lifestyle influencers and ambassadors to drive to Cars & Coffee, FAT International (Mankei, both Ice Races), Luft, Air and Water, etc.

This is exactly how I feel. Knowing we will all be daily driving them someday as the efficiency and tech and autonomous capability will be too great to pass up (probably 2030ish), I have zero desire to own one of these for the true "sports car" or "weekend toy" spot in my garage. Keep that to something raw and exciting forever most likely.

we know nothing

just that you guys will be waiting a while.

considering they are still making a few 992.1 .

expect GTS and base models to arrive first …

expect 992.2 GTS and 992.2 turbo models to be “mild hybrid”.

A 992.2 GTS is definitely on my radar. RWD? Or AWD? A true *** kicker !
Can’t wait for it once again to be called the sweet spot.
But will I trade in the Touring for it?

The way the news articles describe the hybrid system, the GTS would have to be AWD (hybrid assist goes to front axle). Not saying this info is accurate, but that’s what they’ve said…
