Sounds like three now. 22, 23 and 24.

Im saying calendar year 2023 will cover both the couple 23 and 24 MY allocations, but I wouldn't expect much actually production of the gt3 in calendar year 24

Default Touring - 2023 Production

Just to confirm, does everyone still believe that only ~137 GT3 Tourings will be produced in 2023 (this is from the Porsche communication from October that was shared in this thread)? Or am I reading this incorrectly, and there were 137 MY 2023 cars produced at the time of the communication (October) and there are still more being produced in 2023?

If only 137 for all of MY 2023, is the reduction due to Porsche switching over the GT4RS production?

Thanks for your help.

GT3 and GT4 have really nothing to do with each other. The production is winding down because it’s set to wind down. There are other 911 models being produced

they share the same engine and now that engine is shared across 2 models (GT4RS- 911 GT3/RS) and technically 4 trims. GT4RS, GT3, Touring, GT3 RS. thats a massive amount of 4.0 engines. i was told supply chain constraints have them focusing on gt4rs and gt3rs. would make sense that there are very few MY23 GT3's and even less for MY24. Look at the 991.1 There aren't many MY 2016.

What’s the indication the engine is the constraint?

They are about to stuff it in the base 911 next fall too.

^ this (not exactly the same engine, but close enough)

Engine supply has not been an issue impacting delays or causing any constraints. Wire harness, but not engine building itself.

Porsche can churn out lots of engines and it doesn’t really make a difference if it’s one type or any other.

They build them and store them in a giant warehouse that’s 5 stories high, lots and lots of engines. And when the car is scheduled to be built the engine is retrieved and delivered to the assembly line. They can build the engines months in advance.

it’s the 4.0 from the GT4 I believe, not the 4.0 from the GT3

Interesting discussion. The only thing I know is that my dealership received many more 992 Tourings than 991’s. It would be interesting to see that actual numbers from Porsche once all production has stopped for the 992.1.

Does anyone know total 992.1 production ? Its hard to believe they only made 455 GT3's for the US market in 2023.

I’m not in the US but I was able to order a MY ‘24 GT3 last month with a build date of 5 Jul and is now completed and waiting for a boat. While I was there my salesperson showed me their allocation sheet for the rest of the year and there were none left so it seems like I got one of the last ones.
