FWIW, I got a 992 GT3 a couple months ago, and while I think it's a great car overall, it has fallen a bit short of my expectations compared to the 991.2 3RS I currently have and the 991.1 GT3 I had before. I don't know how different the experience of the 992 3RS is compared to the 992 GT3.

Maybe you should try the car on track, like at the Porsche Experience Center?

Here is my build: https://configurator.porsche.com/porsche-code/PRAB2J86
I can drop Weissach and a few other things like deviated yellow stitching but I feel the car is way more valuable from a resale stand pint with Weissach...

In the event of resale, I'd much prefer to be trying to recoup in the low to mid 300's, at the low end of the listings.
Right now if you listed a stripper for 340k or so, that would be 70-80k less than the least expensive listing. It would probably be gone tomorrow.
Could also go track armour instead of ppf until you decide if it's a keeper.

Sweet build and I think weissach is desirable, but forest through the trees, it doesn't sit right in the mid-400s. I'd feel the same. There are a handful for sale in the 400's (and above) that aren't moving very quickly.

haha just a lowly 991.2 guy. But as such, in the low to mid-300's 992 RS probably gets my attention. mid-400's, w/ weissach, deviated stitching, whatever you throw at the build, I'm not even considering. 2c perspective fwiw. Good luck.

stripper version. Still $264K... had to have lightweight wheels and a few other essentials for track and aesthetic purposes. Can't see what else I can remove... So I'm at $382K with tax and PPF/Ceramic.

Do you need all of the yellow interior bits now that you're running the red poverty spec calipers? How many tenths do the carbon fiber mats and exclusive design taillights get you?
Kidding! seems a much more sensible build for where you are with the whole deal.

I like it.

Many of those people are buying them for one or more of these 4 reasons.....1) gotta have the newest shiny toy ASAP, 2) because they think that the .2 version will not be NA, 3) because they gotta show the car off on Instagram and C&C, and/or 4) because GT cars are the new investment asset class that only increase in value.
(yes I overcooked Turn 11 on braking...)

I plan to drive/track my RS (track is it's main purpose and if things go to plan should be more than 70% of the miles on odometer - that was the case for my 2018 GT3 previous track car) - and since sometimes I have to drive it to the track I optioned items like rain senors and other daily driving "aids" that make no sense on track car…that's because when I'm driving my track car in "normal traffic" or have to sit in it for 3+ hours (driving to thunderhill from Santa Cruz, CA for example) the money I saved not optioning the "normal car stuff" will seem silly…
just my $0.02 - but I can imagine a lot of buyers soaking up a lot of capacity have limited plans to actually drive their RS - I understand/support free markets - but it saddens me that there are an equal number of people (or more) that would actually drive their RS if they could get an allocation - and since RS's are in fact limited production items - that means everyone not being driven is one less available for those that would value/appreciate and drive an RS…
my RS is on a boat to Mexico right now - I'm hoping the boat's next port is Benicia after mexico - but it will probably stop in San Diego, LA/Long Beach, Oxnard before finally hitting Benicia - progress is slow watching paint dry or water boil…but I'll get it eventually
it's a pity - I had a day @ Laguna friday nov. 19th - conditions were _IDEAL_ - sunny, cool, but warming every so slightly - did some laps in my wife's 992 TurboS Cab - my god that things a beast on track, but track progression from the 1st session to the 2nd session was amazing as track dried and warmed - lap pace was incredible - I had severe sadness yesterday that my RS was unavailable for that day - because it was an epic day at Laguna - the kinda of day you can not plan but wish for epic…oh well soon enough. I only did 2 session with the TurboS because I don't want to put that type of wear on the wife's Cab. (mostly don't want to accelerate the tire/brake wear) - but I was severely tempted to do more sessions…the day was EPIC.

You guys do realize that allocations were dropped for 2024. That means next round is Q2 2024 for 2025 cars which will be built starting 10/24, but will EOP 3/25.

Yup and we also know that only a fraction of RSs that will ultimately be sold have actually been delivered thus far. Then of course the following cars will be coming soon....2GT3, GT2RS, Speedster, .2GT3RS, and who knows what other kind of other numbered GT car.

There won't be a .2 3RS, makes no logical sense from r&d side.
There won't be any GT3s built all this coming year to assist the catching up on 3rs delays.
Inventory is thin and will stay that way for the 3rs.
