Upgraded Sound System 992 GT3

I personally find the 992 Bose to be considerably worse than the 991 Bose was. The midranges break up really fast and the bass is far more anemic.
We JUST finished up our preliminary development on the 992 Stage Two upgrade(Tweeters + Door Damping + DSP Amplifier) and it's a pretty killer upgrade for not being very involved. You can actually replace the amp without removing the seats and the damping in the 992 takes about half the time.
Sneak peek shots until I publicly release everything next week:

Not if you know the Bose is backorder and will delay your production Build. My build was September and I was advised to go Standard audio due to delay on Bose. Got my car 2 weeks ago. I miss my 991.2 GT3. The 992 GT3 is way worse with rattles and noise levels. Were it not for the new suspension I would have stayed with my old car. Now I have to DYI new speakers and deal with the rattles.
BTW the old 991.2 just had a better interior finish. Some details . The door opening latches in Aluminum instead of forged plastic. The carpet in the back on the gearbox well had GT3 stitched. Cupholders, PDDC Suspension. Removing all these things on the 992 saved Porsche some money, but made the car less quality oriented.
But then again the new double wishbone suspension....

Upgraded my speakers and sound insulation on the doors. What a difference. Next will be amplifier with DSP, but it can wait.
the original speakers are just garbage, a shame on a 200k car. does have to be great speaker, but 15USD paper speakers is just a shame. Spent 700USD, still have some work to do, but at least now I can listen to the radio, before it was painful.
see pics:
Original Midrange
Audison Prima AP4
Original Woofer
Audison Prima AP8
New Tweeter
Original Tweeter
Couple useful hints. The door panels are super easy to remove , there are a lot of threads on it. You remove 2 screws, on by the door handle and one by the end of the panel behind plastic end cap. Afterwards just pul up by the handle , easy.
The A-pilars have new attachment , the press down with chopsticks, best method and then pull. To pull up while installing thread a string through it . pull when ready then release one end of the string and pull it out of there.
Now ready to be enjoyed.

Upgraded base sound system with focal
I agree the basic 992 sound system could not be worse. I just upgraded to the P60 Special Edition from Focal. It’s built for 911 992. All speakers fits perfectly without modification. I also bought the Burmester sub and did sound deadening. Added an Audison dsp/amp, and also bought the Burmester mid range speakers for the rear.

How hard was it for you get the P60 Special Edition?
I was thinking about going with Hertz Speakers (tweeter / midrange / woofers) and the Audison primo forza 8.9 without a subwoofer to keep it clean and simple.
Thanks!

I am about do do this myself on my GT3 Touring with base system. Since you just went through this can I confirm with you that in the base system, there is not an external amplifier, so the installer has to open up the mid dash area to access the speaker wires, splice into them for high signal into the Audison DSP/Amp Combo? If this is what you did, did you notice any issues with the car afterwards?

I don't understand complaints around the Bose system - it's very good IMO. Gets plenty loud, loud enough to cover the engine noise and that's with the bass all the way up listening to EDM with no distortion.
Ordering the base system on a $200k car is just a miss under any scenario IMO.

it was easy to get. Official focal distributor ordered and got it in two days. Confirmed there is no amplifier under the passenger seat compartment, so it will be easy to fit the Audison Pf 8.9. as per the wires, yes that’s the way. I don’t know if there is an issue because it’s still in the works. Only downside on your setup is the fact that you may need to adapt the speaker w special brackets. Also, I’ll let you know if the Burmester subwoofer under the dash makes a difference ( I also wanted to keep it totally clean) so that’s why I bought the original sub that fits the car.

Focal p60 special edition
Installation turned out great. All fits great. Sound is very good. It took time to tune it because I added DSP. But it made a huge difference. Everything looks the same, no issues. The Burmester sub fits well although it’s tricky to fit in. Part number is: 992035481B.
P60 Focal Special Edition
Comes with nice case that Fits in Frunk!
Burmester Sub, installed below dash. Driver side.

I have a 992 Touring with the stock system and I was considering the P60 speaker system.
I am nervous about adding an extra amp as I didn't really want to splice any wires.
How does the P60 system sound without amp on the stock system?
