GT3 Touring or Sport Classic-which would you pick?
You knew this comparo was coming. This is assuming of course you could order either. Yeah, this is a GT board but this GT3 is for, well touring as is the SC. The comparison would have been a little more compelling had they just put in the base turbo engine rather than an emasculated version....

Touring. Even if the price was the same. The fact that the SC is 45k pounds more than the Turbo S is asinine. If not for being a limited number car, there is no way the SC commands that price.
If the SC was priced between the Touring and GTS, I would want one.

SC is a showpiece car. Like a nice watch you wear once.
Touring is a little more usable. Like a Rolex you wear twice and than leave in the nightstand until you are ready to sell.
To me, Touring all the way. You can get the car to look almost the exact same sans ducktail but you can procure that if you are creative.
Porsche is good at selling cars with limited quantities that have a bunch of stickers and badges all over it to sell to the guys who either had a classic Porsche or couldn’t afford one decades ago. Pass.

I have a 992 Touring with a manual. It is amazing, but really needs sound deadening. On the motorway/freeway the road noise is brutal. Even at low speeds there is quite a large amount of engine wine.
The low performance numbers of the SC are frankly shocking at the price point. I might be offered one, but am tempted to pass at that price.

Honestly, GT3 Touring - lovely car and far more interesting. The SC is pure marketing - as a sanity check do a side by side comparo with a 992 GTS

The numbered car game sucks. Numbered non-GT cars suck even more. Touring > GTS > SC

SC for me dawgs .
maybe I’m getting old…who knows… maybe it’s the koolaid🤔.
I’m a hoarder… I still have my 981 GT4 and 991 touring; I love them to bits. This SC would fit better in my stable. YMMV.

SC all the way just for the looks, even if the engine is not NA!

I haven't driven my touring yet on a daily basis but have had extensive time in a Turbo. The turbo is a niiiiiice daily driver.
The SC very much appeals to me. I will never have the access to buy one new but would do so if there was one available. The combination of design, confort, back seats and a bat sh** crazy manual would make it a ton of fun.
The touring fits my personality. The SC fits my life better.
Bottom line: I don't know which one I would choose.

In a Perfect World …. Both.
My GT3 Touring arrives in June - GT Silver over Cognac - styling wise it’s a toss up.
I’m a manual transmission fan in any sports car - toss up again.
No doubt both these vehicles are Works of Art .

Burning Brakes
Touring. I'm sure there would be days where the softer SC would be a nicer car particularly for more regular driving. But at that price point it should be an "experience" car and it lacks the attributes to make it as much.

Initially I always discarded this new sport classic until I discovered what it actually was.... I think it will be an epic car and it looks better than a touring by quite a long way.
My manual GT3 Touring just arrived at the port in Emden and will be here in early June. I have always been a GT car guy and love the sound over turbo's.
Having stated this, I have already asked my dealer for a Sport Classic and I would love the have them both next to each other in Garage!

Touring for sure.
A price close to an F8, that's just idiotic. Was offered an allocation, but I told my dealer that I already have a Sport Classic on order. It's called a Singer, and in my country the Singer is half the price of the SC. Almost 300k Euro before any taxes for a 992? They have lost the plot. It's like the McLaren Elva. One would think this would be very easy to sell, but at least where I am, people are put off by the steep price for what it is. An F40 seems to be a bargain next to this...
