The marque that makes something like 17 different trims of the 911 (not including the Turbo or GT models) and now a Dakar, ST, SC, etc. There's probably a trim for every single type and kind of buyer out there.

I drive my touring every day and would prefer to do so without a massive wing on the back. Touring flies under the radar and that’s my jam. I track 2-4 times per year and can deal without the most aggressive aero available because the car still handles insanely well. Your oxymoron is someone else’s perfect recipe

BINGO and somewhat disappointing to ME.

GT Porsches have become the Birkin bags for men. It's less about what they do, and MUCH more about who can have them. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Basically a 911R on the 992 platform - Lighter weight (more carbon fiber), HP bump, Cosmetics, Badge, maybe a Ducktail. I would love for Porsche to launch new carbon fiber buckets that fold with the ST (fat chance, I know).
As I posted, I'm referring to the ST units sold to the unwashed, the non-VIPs. Allocations should be better this time around due to an expected (hoped-for) higher production # (~1900 vs. the R's 991) and the fact there are fewer VIPs after 10 years (they sold their 918s, etc.). If the Dealer is auctioning off their non-VIP allocations to the higher bidder, then what's the point of a list w/deposits? Any Dealers out there who want to reveal the inner contents of this black box?
There are less than 500 ST’s coming to the US. Some Porsche stores won’t even get a single allocation. The highest volume stores in the country will get maybe 4. Every allocation will go to the best customers at the store, who do not pay ADMs, and are mostly 918 clients. Just like the sport classic, there will be the few random dealerships that will auction off their allocation to the highest bidder. But that will be the exception not the norm

I buy cars from one of the the largest, if not the largest, Porsche NA dealer network in the country, whose largest volume store is a top 10 dealer in the US. It has been explained that 918 clients get first right of refusal, per usual, then allocations trickle down to the others, which are likely to be their best customers. I went in to put my name on the "ST list" over 18 months ago when no one at the dealer even knew what the car was, it doesn't mean I get a car nor does it dictate ADM. The black box you're searching for is irrelevant because it is different between every dealer network or store. The store I buy from would never auction off an allocation for a numbered car for the highest ADM, while a different store in the same city might do exactly that.
There may be fewer VIPs than there were 8-9 years ago, but there are still plenty of them, and their take-rate for specialty cars like the ST is quite high in my area.

About 1/3 of total go to the US. 700 more of these than the Sport Classic so roughly 230 more to the US, appprx. 650, so slightly better chance but the ‘unwashed’ remain…”no soup for you.” Still, this is considered a lot of cars and therefore not so limited. Nearly 2000 units is on the bubble

I responded to that point, there will not be many sold to the "unwashed" as you coined us. There will be 1,963 ST cars globally, which means ~500 or slightly less will be coming to the US. There are 199 Porsche stores in the US. The small volume stores might get 1, the largest stores might get 3-5. There is not a lot of room for non-VIP allocations if the VIP take-rate is high.

If this wasn't mentioned by anyone else, on a recent episode Spike Car Radio chimed in on Porsche's product pipeline and also rumored that the ST announcement will occur on June 8th, along with the Hypercar in 2026. Rumors are just that, however.

My MSRP-only dealer is probably a little smaller than average. They got 2 Dakar allocations (Dakar limited to 2200 so about the same as ST). They will get 1 or 2 STs most likely. They have 2 918 VIPs. One VIP already not interested. So best case is they have 1 available allocation. I told them to take my PTS 992 GT3 @ MSRP and I’ll buy a Cayenne (which I need anyways). I don’t expect anything but maybe stars will align. I did just give him a bottle of Blantons last week because I get any non-special GT car at MSRP.
