Do we think the ST will have a frunk like the GT3
or no frunk like the 3RS?

If a Dealer has 10+ people on a list (with deposits) for the ST, will the dealer forego ADM on its "best" customers at the top of the list (excluding VIPs) if customers at the bottom of the list are willing to pay $50k - $100k ADM? I suspect many, if not most Dealers will collect ADM given the demand.

The ST likely won't have the hood of the 3RS because it won't have the picnic table on the back. The ST will *need* the frunk to hold the $$$ to pay the ADM.

The reason most buyers won’t pay an ADM is because a large number of those who are allocated an ST will be 918 VIP’s who are contractually entitled to all limited cars at MSRP.

With the 911R, the number of non-VIP’s who got an allocated car was exceptionally small.

So what's to differentiate it from a manual Touring then?

many dealers will only get 1-2 most likely. Assuming they have at least one 918 VIP and some other vip that they don’t want to **** off with ADM, many will be sold at sticker, after that… I’m sure they will be $500k+ all in.

There are less than 500 ST’s coming to the US. Some Porsche stores won’t even get a single allocation. The highest volume stores in the country will get maybe 4. Every allocation will go to the best customers at the store, who do not pay ADMs, and are mostly 918 clients. Just like the sport classic, there will be the few random dealerships that will auction off their allocation to the highest bidder. But that will be the exception not the norm

I'm talking from a driving dynamics pov, not aesthetics and plaques.

The R was a vastly different car than anything at that time, heck it was different from the 991.2 Touring that came after it. Back then the SMF was a thing, they were offering a manual when none was available, the HP delta between a GT3 and 3RS was also noteworthy, now they are practically the same and obviously they can't get much more out of that motor.

I hope they have something in their back pocket that differentiates the SC from the Touring more than 10kg and a plaque ... heck if Exclusive can come up with something singularly different like the SC, I trust that GT can do likewise.

I see your points, but does the ST need to be drastically different than the touring? I have the R with the SMF and I find it more annoying than value-add. Different doesn’t mean better.

All of the little things we are expecting from the ST that differentiate it from the touring are exactly the types of things that are important to me. A little more track aero, carbon doors with real doorhandles, slight bump in power, slight weight reduction, double bubble roof, special interior. All the things I wish my touring had. It will be different enough and appeal to plenty for it to be a success. I guess you could say that about all 911s these days but the ST has a perfect recipe in my opinion.

If all they’d done on the SC was bubble roof, snazzy interior, on a GTS engine/drivetrain it would not be a thing.

It better at least have the frunk rad with some bespoke aero package to make the rear work with the front RS bits like the R did with the special rear diffuser.

It’s either a 3RS Touring or it isn’t is all I’m saying.

I will gladly take a 3RS Touring

Not to worry - they will do just enough with the ST to make most people on this board want one

Isn't 3RS Touring an oxymoron? What's next, Diesel Tesla?

There has been a Touring version of the RS for over 50 years…
