PTS ST just got updated and shows headed to german port. Hoping to see it in the next 30 days!

 

I got it from my contact over there, but I’m going to visit them in couple of days and check it out.

 

Factory (Zuffenhausen) is now closed for three weeks. Opens back up (slowly the first week) August 19th.

CXX will have a small team continuing to work through the break, but very limited.

 

That's my start production date.

So they changed the timing of their annual summer closing for this year? Don't they normally close last 2 weeks of August?

 

It is now July 29-August 19.

So... do they just leave cars half-complete on the line for a month? A couple cars entered the body shop this week and likely aren't fully assembled yet. Anyone know what the logistics for a factory shutdown and retooling look like?

 

There is no "retooling" the body shop can punch out any part it wants and besides this is only a model refresh year. Yes, in some cases they actually do just leave the cars partially assembled. It really depends upon where the car is in the manufacturing process. But it's no different than when a shift change occurs.

 

Yes, some are still working through the break. I'm going there on 30 July.

 

I have an assigned VIN as well. Production start August 28, completion September 6.

 

I have a VIN.

My car started production on 6/12, was supposed to finish on 6/30.

I received photos showing that the car was complete and was going a floor down for inspection

7/5 instead of updating to complete, build completion date pushed out to 9/4 <shrug>

I traded in my only Porsche back in Dec, and itching to get my dream car and fill this void

 

mine did same back in March, but on photo was missing the aero pieces behind the front wheels. Finally completed officially 2 months later in time for Euro Delivery in June. Mine was supposed to arrive in USA yesterday, so hopefully will finally get it redelivered here next week. Although, it’s already lived its best life driving the Alps for 10 days, the roads here in Midwest are not quite as entertaining

 

Anyone else have production around mid/late August that has a PTS car? Wondering if they're batching us together
