Anyone experience the optional aluminum foot pedals? Are they any different than prior? I disliked them previously, thought they were slippery. But the description on the configurator states "new sporty design, anodized and nano-coated". Wonder if the nano-coating gives them friction.

Nano-anything would mean slick or protective in my automotive dictionary. Over time, aluminum that’s exposed to a lot of water and oxygen would oxidize, and it doesn’t look pretty.

Thank you! It’s a dream come true.

I’ve dreamed of owning a 911 since I was a young kid, and made that 30+ year dream happen last Jan with my 992 GTS. I got the GTS because I couldn’t get on the list for a GT3 at the time… I feel incredibly blessed

Sorry, had to just get that off my chest as it's been bugging me, but people think it sounds cool so I bit my tongue til now.

Carry on.
Well, of course, and a car does not have character, but it is interchanged regularly to describe the nuance of one’s perceived interaction with a motor vehicle, without much bewilderment, or cause for concern.

I think ethos works the same, although technically not error-free, people get the general context, especially when derived from a certain group of people over many years…In this case — The GT Department.

Happy New Year.

Dude that's awesome. GTS to S/T is one hell of an entry to 911 ownership. Congrats!
Hope you drive the wheels off the S/T

What's awesome is that had a plan and made it happen and I am glad you aren't refraining from the move over a rounding error in the grand scheme of a, hopefully, 100 year life of earning and spending. Glad you are able to enjoy the journey with what will be a bucket lister!

Thank you!

And as for driving the S/T, I love the quote from Jerry Seinfeld “when you get to Heaven, if you have the lowest mileage Porsche, you LOSE”

…he then goes on to say that a failure to enjoy is a tragedy. I agree

Someone on RL said it best though: “not driving your Porsche to keep the mileage low is like not having sex with your girlfriend so that her future husband enjoys her more”

Thank you! I totally agree, and feel like 20 years from now, all the people in my inner circle that thought I was crazy for putting so much effort into getting a car (they’re not car people) will understand what a gem the S/T was/is. But I don’t need anyone to agree with me, I know how insanely special this car is, and I’m steadfast in my belief that it will be regarded as one of, if not the, all time greatest 911’s and Porsche’s ever made.

I also believe it will be regarded as one of the greats of all time. It's gonna be a long wait these next 9-10 months

while I don't agree with many posts, I love the discussion on this thread.
many, inc journalist, opine on 4.0... I have over 40k miles on 4.0 and half of those are at red line or illegal speed in Mexico. those who know me knows when I said I drive at redline, I mean I zing the motor.. I don't give a fk about DME. if it blows, it blows... and what is 4.0 vs ST... its road and driver depended. so say which is better without those consideration is ignorant at best.

clutch on the ST is light but it's not that light. modern cars is not about just FLW wt, but programming. I stall 992 and I drive it daily . I did not stall ST... read that however you want,

how heavy is too heavy clutch? 4.0 is heavier. but how much leg power do u have? I can drive that in NYC traffic all day no prob. so it doesnt Bother me. but It could Bothe others. that said I like 992 clutch better.

steering feel... it's not always the cars. talk about the driver. any of you play snooker, 8 or 9 ball. how many fingers rye have on the cue? some use 5 some use 2. some ppl have sensitive fingers... I prefer 992 steering more than any porsche before it. jsut b/c something bounces around in your hand doesnt mean it FEELS right. is cello better than violin?

we are fortunate to play with these toys, they are all different all good in some way. I used to try to find the GRAIL... guest what... there is no GRAIL...
enjoy the journey smell the coffee and keep the discussion coming.

and NO. I was not able to get ST

to Unotoz. yes CGT steering is bad.
suspension horrible
shifter great
engine great
I have 14k miles on the chassis and lot of it going sideway, not on purpose.
they car sucks. really
but I like it.
it's like you cheated on your SO but didn't get caught... the excitement of the act is what interest me....

Reading this thread really puts things in perspective and I'm very jealous of you guys in the US lol... I was offered a S/T slot a while back but passed since after speccing out how I'd want it it would have been north of $1.5M here. And I'll probably get crucified for it here but I think I actually enjoy PDK more than manual at the moment so I'll have to just admire from the sidelines for now.

$1.5m? That's with all the taxes and stuff, right?

Yup, base price here is just under $1.4M + the piece of paper we need to buy to own it for 10 years which is currently trading at around $100K. We can just call it $1.1M+ USD before options to keep it simple. PTS is $182K, Heritage Pack is $100K, CF rollcage $26K, front nose lift $18K etc. As you can see it adds up quickly and is too rich for my blood. But if they ever made a similar car with PDK and kept the GT3 wing I might have to convince my wife to let me sell a kidney or two...
