I think the S/T fits the car’s brief without a roll bar pretty well. It’s a model that looks correct without one to me (unlike some others)

If you were getting one at MSRP you would be raving about this car but instead you're trying to steer this thread into a value discussion about expected market value vs your Touring to justify the fact that you can't get one at MSRP. You make every thread into some sort of value thread. No contribution to the actual discussion, per usual.
I'm not steering anything, I'm just stating where I think these will trade on the open market because it will be a very desirable car partially because it's numbered. Very few non-918 US buyers will get one at MSRP, that's just reality. If I really wanted one I'd stroke a $500k+ check to get one.

The question wasn't why they don't have the roll bar for US cars vs ROW cars, I know the answer to that question. The question was more about why put a roll bar into the ST since it is not track focused and more of a street/canyon car? They could have saved a few more weight by not having a roll bar in the car.

The percentage of 911/718 production allocated to tts/heritage/limited/gt/rs cars is absurd, yes. The public company goal is to sell more cars over 200k euros.
The s/t is mega cool. I would love to get a shot at one. I am curious about lack of RWS influence in driving dynamics because I think it’s one of the elements that makes my gt3 feel so much lighter on its feet vs the gt4rs

Question-
Without RWS, how will they retain that feeling of a light weight car through the seat of your pants and the lightness of the steering?
It’s One of the things I love about the gt3 (992) and gt3 rs (991), it’s a the lightness you perceive in the wheel, which adds to an overall feeling of agility in the car even driving down the street at normal speed. I always thought that was a combination of a light weight car with RWS and a fast steering rack (plus double wish bone on the 992).
When I drive he Gt4rs it feels relatively heavy in this regard. Steering is a bit heavier and it’s just not as lively on the road. Yet the cars weigh the same and the 4rs has narrower tires. I thought a lot of this was RWS. Perhaps not. It wouldn’t be the first time I was wrong
Thanks!

Huge congrats to those who get one. This has all of the things I love about the R and Touring, but it looks to be even sharper and enthusiast focused. It’s a pretty great chef’s kiss to the 918 / VIP program in its current state. If I had half the chance and more time, space and resources, I’d have one in a heartbeat. For the things I like to do with cars, this is a perfect companion to the Sport Classic. It’d be total gluttony, but if you have the opportunity and the means, what a combination that would prove to be. ST for my motorcycle roads and SC for road trips, date night and cars & coffee.

Interesting color. Not in the PTS palette. New 911 S/T: Porsche's lightest 992 yet gets close-ratio gearbox, GT3 RS's 518-hp flat six | The Porsche Club of America (pca.org)
