The only ones hating in here are the ones who aren't getting one. No surprise there.

The conversation with the suspension came up very early in the car’s development. When I asked AP about it his response was, if you want a car for the track buy an RS or even a wing GT3, the ST is not the car for you. But, the suspension has been completely revised to have a bigger delta between Sport and Track mode and faster rebound and compression. So softer for street, and stiffer for canyon driving.

So, it’s been released and now we know the communication colour and we know everything else. This is clearly more than the sum
of its parts and I am excited for it!!

This its literally the only thing I'd trade my manual Touring for. Let's see!

I was worried that it wasn't going to be different enough from the Touring and was happy to keep my SC if that were the case.
I was hoping that Porsche and AP would deliver and surprise us again beyond a plaque and a few CF bits, and to me, they did.
This is quite special to my eyes, so much so that if I'm fortunate enough to get one it might make me forget the biggest car selling mistake in my life when I sold the R.
Most of it is in the transmission for me ... SMF combined with a STS sound heavenly.
Interested to see how the lack of RWS translates on the road.

Still wondering if the ratios within the transmission are different or "just" a final drive change to shorten all gears but keep the gap or spread gear to gear the same.

I'd be shocked if they changed the gear stack. Fairly sure it's just a final drive change. If they changed the spreads, they couldn't accurately say they lowered gearing by 8% (without saying something like 6th gear is 8% lower).

I hope the light flywheel and gearing make it into 992.2 manual cars, at least as an option. That would be awesome

The Auto Bild video is definitely worth a watch even with subtitles just for the extra details Andy Preuninger gives.

Dealers just got notified to offer 918 customers allocations. Once the 918 owners confirm, PCNA will know how many are left over for gen pop.

In the Pistonheads video, AP mentioned running out of revs in 6th gear at 186mph. I did the math and it looks close to 199 mph at redline to me (if engine is making enough power there) without Vmax electronic limiting. Pretty sure stock GT3 gearing is at least 24 mph per 1,000 rpm and 8% less gives just over 22 mph per 1,000 rpm.

At 186 mph, the engine will be turning 8,455 rpm which is pretty close to peak power. Just splitting hairs - would love the lower gears
