Default The market

How do we think the market will price 2 exactly equipped cars one a $40k ADM the other a $ 100k ADM or more 1-2 years from now. There are a lot of different ADM’s and it will be interesting as to how all this influences the market. I have seen no disclosures on any of the auction sites other than a no sale for a car priced from MSRP.

markets don't care what you pay
would you pay more for a gt3 that the guy paid 100 k ADM vs exactly same car that the guy paid 40 k
answer is no
at best you feel bad for the guy that over paid

not sure if this is a real Q, but the truth is that the guy who sadly paid $100K over will keep the car longer than the guy who paid $40K over, or just will get burned by an extra $60K more than the other guy.

We have seen these prices late last year for 2022 models, in the $25K-$40K ADM range for PDK cars with standard colors. However, this is the first time we are starting to see PTS cars, and PTS manual cars reach this low of a markup vs. MSRP. We saw a Jade Green PDK sell for $27K over on auction and another Irish Green PTS Manual w only 350 miles on it go for $33K over. Any green PTS car with a manual would have gone for close to $300K in the past, to see one go for $240K just means things have really come down in price. Maybe it is a seasonal thing like last year, but maybe not. I think the insane PTS premium is gone now though.

Stopped by the local Porsche dealer as i had to get new tires mounted on my 2015 GT3. They had an RS in the showroom so i started chatting with a salesman. I asked if the car was for sale, and the first guy said he had no idea. So i asked a second salesman the same question and he wasn’t sure either. So i asked who does know? And then they told me that the customer who ordered the car may or may not take delivery, but most likely would just flip it. Evidently 90% of these type cars are sold this way. Really? It is mostly done by VIPs who paid $1m for the 918 and now have a license to rip off the rest of us. The good news is they said the VIP program is ending in 2025 and Porsche most likely will not replace it. Unfortunately the program was completely abused. No idea how accurate any of this is, but this is what I was told.

The erosion of ADM was not a smooth line down, pricing appeared to pick up if anything (for all cars) in summer but feels like both demand is ebbing, partially due to seasonality, and supply has recently picked up. Plus Porsche has been pumping out so many variations of GT cars that sub-models are cannibalizing demand a bit.

I've had the same experience where the salesperson didn't know whether a particular car was for sale. Really? Are the sales staff only there to fog a mirror? If that's the state of things, why not replace the staff with potted plants. I assume everything on the floor is for sale unless it has a "SOLD" sign on it, but I guess the supply chain for sold placards hasn't yet recovered...

End of rant.
