LMAO ... boy, if that isn't the truth! I'll show my age but it almost seems like the Hatfields vs. the McCoys .... just gotta figure out if the Hatfields are for or against the ADMs.

One dealer in the area offered 30k for a guaranteed end of year build.

You keep feeding the monster and see what happens? 100% markups. Wait until your local Porsche dealer sees this.. (wheels locks not thrown in is the best part.. like "**** and yes I'll keep crapping on you until I'm good and satisfied"

Suddenly $20-30k ADMs on a $200k car don't seem so bad

And if everyone were like you, ADMs would not exist. It's the buyer and not the seller that actually determines price.

Yeah LA is nuts. I was told 20k ADM for a GT4. Passed on that and found one with 2K ADM I negotiated down and that basically was for the ceramic coat they applied

LOL I tried buying a 4runner from Piercey in Milpitas. They own both the Honda + Toyota there. Not sure what other's experience in the Bay Area, but based on my experience Piercey is known to tack on ADM even for cars that don't seem like they would fetch or move with it. Looks like this is for Phoenix Yellow and even then the lowest ADM I've seen on one in South Bay is around ~25-30. 50k is outrageous even for an elusive color like this. I also purchased a Type R (albeit Black), Bay Area dealers are greedy, lol.

I was told $40K-$50K for the first ones. Based on my knowledge of this dealer's asking vs selling pattern, I'm guessing they get $25K over for their first ones, with that ADM falling rapidly as it approaches the new year.

To be fair, the Phoenix Yellow limited edition has modifications over the regular Type-R and I wanna say they're only making 600 of them. Even $25k is still an insane markup. Turning a $43k car into a $75k to 90k car means you might as well buy something that's normally in the $75k-90k range like a used 981 GT4, AMG GT, Corvette, etc. I wonder how many people actually bite on markups like that for a car like the CTR?

Agreed. Alot of options even north of 60-70k. M2C, 981, even a used 997.1 GT3 pre-pandemic you could probably fetch a well-optioned one at ~90-100k. You'd be surprised though, have a few colleagues who are still stuck paying ADM on those FK8 Type R's even for your normal run-of-the-mill colors (Sonic Grey, EBP, Red, etc). Historically though, Bay Area dealers were never one to shy away from tacking on ADM because if someone won't pay it, another poor fellow will.

I think this is the same case for Honda dealers in SoCal too, there's just not many of those cars being made.
