Allocation + ADM?

This graph to me just says that rolex has taken a larger market share, not that they are producing more...
I have yet to receive my c2s- 7 dealers all willing to take a deposit but no allocations for a Carrera. Im sure gts models will be throttled as well. I can only imagine what frustration waiting for a gt3 will be like, especially a touring if the ratio remains 3:1.
That being said, I'm willing to flip my incoming c2s for a gt3 slot without hesitation

I've had a deposit up with a dealer for about 9 months and sent an email to them the other day checking in to see how things are looking as far as me getting an allocation. In their response, they stated the following:
Porsche has changed the margin structure for dealers, thereby encouraging dealers to pursue “market value” pricing for the cars. Currently we are hearing somewhere in the vicinity of $50,000 over MSRP.
Looks like I will be holding onto my 2018 touring for a while.

I mean they haven't told me no either, as I've said elsewhere in the thread. But I feel you. I'm not going to pay 50 Grand if they do come back to me about that kind of money, though. I'd rather go pick up a used 18 or 19 winged GT3 with low miles. But sellers right now probably because it's getting nice outside think they're worth over MSRP 3 years later.

Bro at least you have a GT3, that would be sick to even own one. I have a deposit, I was told I'm guaranteed number three in an email, but similarly they're not telling me how many they got now. in fact they asked me if I would be willing to agree to an ADM of $10,000 and I said yes a few weeks ago. So I'm kind of wondering why a dealer would ask me to pay an ADM and then not tell me if I'm going to get one after the order window started.

This is like getting a text message from a girl you asked out and having her say something like "Would love to hang out, but gotta see if I need to wash my hair Friday night, will let you know soon. XOXO." .... all the while she's waiting for her "other" date to get back to her on her IG DM.
Need to man up, and tell the dealer you want a confirmed allocation, and get their asking price. If it's too high, walk. If it's not, pull the trigger. This way, at least you have certainty.
Good luck.

My local dealer in the DC metro told me they've got 3 GT3's in their initial allocation. Anyone else heard any numbers for this first set of deliveries? Is it normal for there to be that few in the first set for a large dealership?

Used choice spec cars are also not showing up freely on dealer lots.
Used 991.2 GT3 are now trading at MSRP, whereas couple months ago they were below.
They aren't keeping allocations and used cars in the vault.
Looks like Porsche is faking scarcity really well, they are controlling used inventory and turning away people who want cars before the Fall. Sweet success!

It's not sinking in. Here in Canada you cannot get a sports car allocation for 2021 MY. Done. Only ones that may come up are people dropping out before the build locks. Lists are for 2022 MY for late Fall delivery if lucky.

That being said, prices are much higher now and I don't know if it's just seasonal or if it really has something to do with availability. I have a hunch more gt3s will be coming on the market in the next 6 months while people are waiting to receive and or finance their 992 GT3. I can't tell obviously for sure but I wonder if the prices will go down again in the fall when everybody starts getting deliveries and trading in their 991.2 for their new baby.

Saw this very informative post by Dot23RS (#1254 on The "Unofficial" 991.2 GT3 Production Number Stats). Rightly or wrongly, found some hope that all is not lost if you didn't luck out on first batch or pay a hefty ADM. Good luck to all.

Well they better get on the stick. Not exactly off to a raging start.

There's an inventory shortage here at Porsche dealers for sports cars. 911 and 718. Used and New. 2021 allocations are done on these models as well. They are taking names for 2022 allocations.
I also received an email from a classic car dealer & restoration shop here, known in that community. They want to buy 991.2 GT3, apparently have existing customers lined up ready to buy. 991.2 GT3 are trading at about MSRP now, they were under before. Have never received communication like that from them before.
