Allocation + ADM?

Indeed, it’s the value of the 991 that is driving the ADM’s on the 992.

I have trolled this tread for a while and haven't posted because I know I am going to get ridiculed but I assume there is someone out there that is in the same position I was and might find this info valuable. In March 2021, I spoke with my SA about getting a GT3 or a Turbo S. At the time, I wasn't very familiar with the market. My SA, steered me toward the Turbo S (basically said I wouldn't want a GT3) but as I waited for him to get an allocation, I did some more research and decided that the GT3T was the car for me. I phone him in late March to see about changing it, that's when I got the picture that he didn't recommend the GT3 because he had a long waiting list and wasn't going to get one for me. Essentially, he was doing his job, selling cars but I had hoped he'd also have my interest in mind. I know, that's naive.
After being told by my SA that the GT3 wasn't going to happen, I started calling around. First locally, then regionally, then the west coast, and then cross country. I found three responses. 1) No, we already have too many people waiting and/or we don't do ADMs 2) we will put you on a waitlist that's so deep you'll never see a car 3) with a deposit and ADM of 50K will put you on the list (at ~15th) but it's unlikely that we'll have enough allocations to fulfill your request and 4) with a 100K ADM we can get you an allocation.
So, it seemed unlikely to get a car for anything under a 100K ADM which was too steep for me. Not because it was crazy to pay that much over MSRP (market price is what we always pay, not manufacture price-- which is why we have all bought cars under MSRP) but because I didn't want to spend that kind of money on any car.
I was called back by a SA that offered the allocation at 100k ADM, with the option for an allocation at an ADM of 75K over and I took that. We all have our price, and I guess I am one of the idiots driving up the prices for these cars. My apologies but as someone who doesn't have years invested with a dealer (and I dislike my dealer because even though I have purchased from them and have my car serviced with them, apathy is the best I ever get from them), I didn't see many options to getting a PTS allocation for a GT3T without paying the current market price. Maybe waiting would have worked, but I have the patience of a labrador at feeding time. One other notable thing, I paid the mark-up at V100.
So, you can ridicule me for paying such a high ADM, but I am so excited to get this car and drive the snot out of it for many years that I won't care.
Lastly, the SA that I am working with has been responsive, helpful, truthful, and straightforward. I am hoping that continues. Here are my impressions of some of the dealers I spoke with. RESPECTABLE: Porsche Fresno, Porsche Bellingham, Porsche Beaverton, Porsche West Palm Beach, Hennesy Porsche, Porsche Naples, Porsche Fairfield. AVOID: Porsche Spokane, Porsche Tacoma, Porsche Bellevue, Porsche Rocklin, Porsche Freemont, Hendrick Porsche.

No one is going to ridicule you. It's your money. Good job earning it and spending it how you like. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, not sure yet, looking at some CA cars (currently live in MI) as they are all 10 years or older now and body issues are becoming a problem. I've had several and they are great if you're into bicycle racing...roll the bike in, bungie cord and hose out interior. It's basically the only vehicle that you can do that due to large vertical opening. Although a lot of bike racers do it, I prefer not to have my nice race bikes on a bike rack or out in the open (pickup) when I stop for gas or have to stop for an errand. They disappear quickly and stolen parts are easy to sell. The fact that they run for 200 to 300k with minimal service doesn't hurt either.
I had a Honda Element SC, that thing was awesome. Wish I didn't sell it. Or at least hung onto it longer than I did.
You getting a SC? Black or Root Beer?
EDIT - The only downside was the rocky ride on bumpy roads.

Yes- you driving up the price
Yes- your money. Free to do what you like with what you worked hard to earn.
***So glad I have no interest. Need more butter for my popcorn. This is going to be an interesting 6 months with these 992s
