I think this is a pretty good description of what it will be.

Its confusing, because pics in the article seem to use GTS body, but there are other pics of mules running the Turbo body...

Not sure if anyone outside of Porsche actually knows, but my guess would be a RWD Turbo PDK with lightweight package, and of course, a duck tail. Not sure if it would be a numbered car, but certainly limited production so getting an allocation could be tough, depending on how ‘special’ it is...

The 997 Sport Classic had rear seats, so I'm not sure why this 992 wouldn't. My understanding is it will be limited, numbered production like the 997 Sport Classic, 991 Speedster, 911R. The Sport Classic will be coming out of the Exclusive dept not the GT dept, but I still predict an NA engine. Porsche has the 4.0L NA motor from the 781 GTS platform already so could crank up the specs a small amount and stick that in a 911 Sport Classic.

Probably an optical illusion, but the rear wheels look huge compared to the front (more than a 1” difference).
Why do people think it will be based on the turbo? The original sport classic was based off of the Carrera, wasn’t it? If this car is an early 992 sport classic, I think it would basically be a GTS with the ducktail, fuchs-style wheels, manual transmission, and an exclusive bespoke interior.
I’m still on board with the notion that the car in the photos is a sport classic prototype, but it is also possible that it is some new package we haven’t seen before.

Burning Brakes
The 997 Sport Classic was basically a GTS before the GTS was a thing, with a fancier interior and a bespoke roof with double bubbles, and a ducktail of course.

I was digging around in the way back machine, and came across the “club coupe” edition. It was a 991 GTS with a ducktail, similar 5 spoke wheels, a custom color, and custom interior. Looks pretty similar to what I saw in the spy shots. This 991 Club Coupe was a super exclusive model… there were only 60 of them built.
Below is a link to an article about the 991 Club Coupe, and a couple of photos.
