Similar, but you get the bigger engine from the Turbo with much more power and torque than the GTS

I thought Turbo motor is 572hp (580PS), but this one is detuned due to rating of manual 7spd gearbox being lower than PDK’s and I think there is less cooling with this body style as well.

Much different engine. But...maybe?

Exactly. That's what I'm trying to find out. Is there any GT car parts or even design direction in this car? Or is it a normal 992?

Not that I would be able to get an allocation anyway, so this is just idle chatter...

It's mostly an exercise by Porsche Exclusive Manufakur to make a limited handsome car with a bespoke interior. In the past, the car was mechanically identical to a Carrera S with the X51 power kit (+30hp) which would now be analogous to a Carrera GTS. In this case, they added a Turbo motor (large displacement) for a performance enhancement to the 997 recipe (that was limited to only 250 cars and not imported to North America).

Yes, that is the wide body, just with the fender intakes filled in.

So this becomes an another car that people buy, in hopes of it doubling in price so that no one wants to put any actual miles on it. At some point, isn't it better to buy a Carrera, pimp out the interior/exterior how you want and drive it into the ground?

dont get me wrong, I love the ducktail and I understand its a unique configuration with the engine and manual etc but how much different will the drive be from other similar cars?

AHH - glad we get a shot at the 992 sports classic in the good old USA - any idea what the msrp will be? i can only imagine what the adm will be.

200 dealers in the US - each major dealer gets 3 and smaller ones get 1 could make this a tough allocation.

100%! Seems like Porsche is leaning in with the collector demographic because in a practical sense this car seems like a downgrade from Turbo and has no connection to GT cars whatsoever. The manual could be seen as an "improvement" for those who care about it but the Turbo engine driving rear wheels only makes shifting nearly irrelevant, with more than enough torque anywhere from 2K to 7K RPM, so you can just stay in one gear on most drives without any real performance loss. A GT3 engine with a compliant suspension and more practical body (rear seats, toned down appearance) would have been much more interesting for people who buy cars to drive rather than collect or resell.

I'm pretty sure I'm alone in this, but the ducktail doesn't match the rest of the rear end. The rear looks very modern, but the ducktail looks very retro. At least in pictures I feel like they clash. MT and rear drive is cool. I didn't even ask my dealer about the potential of getting one.

^ Bingo. As I wrote above, some Porsche fairy dust and hopefully tuned to be more of a hotrod would be great. If it acts like a standard Turbo then no.
