Interesting, begs the following questions,
Which transmission would they be using?
Does the 6 speed have a high enough torque rating to handle a turbo engine?
Or would it have to use the 7 speed trans found in the S?
And can the 7 speed manual deal with Turbo S levels of torque, or are we looking at something more like a GTS variant?
Obviously time will tell, and being a manual certainly makes it more desirable to many enthusiasts.

A GT3 engine with ducktail and bespoke paint/interior would be a special offering. The 997 SC did not make it to the US and I believe there were only 250 worldwide so I assume the 992 will not follow that closely in the 997 SC path. Also the 997 SC came out of Exclusive not Motorsport.

Similar to 2009 SC but with Turbo Bits?
I was in Germany on business while the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show was in progress. I saw the global intro of the 911 Turbo in the same color (Meteor Gray) as the one I had on order. Not far away was the reveal of the Sport Classic - absolutely stunning. I offer the following simply fuel the speculation about this car.
An 80-Mile 2010 Porsche 911 Sport Classic Is Up for Sale (drivemag.com) This is a link for an 80-mile SC for sale in Europe.
It's curious that the car(s) in the Carscoops, Motor1 and Top Speed spy shots have Turbo design elements - front clip, hood, sport exhaust, optional Turbo/Turbo S wheels - but no side air intake (rear lid grill appears to be standard 992). If it had side scoops, it could suggest a Turbo/Turbo S "Touring" - but presumably the F/R diffuser/spoiler are needed for downforce at the Turbo's HP levels, and the engine presumably needs the side scoops. Also we know that manufacturers appear to pick body shells and wheels, etc. unrelated to the final model when testing new models at Nurburgring.
So could this be a limited edition Sport Classic - if so, with a NA engine like the Spyder? Or the new GTS - possibly with a slightly detuned NA engine to take the pressure off GT3 speculation much like Porsche did when they offered the GT3 with a manual transmission to "detune" speculation on the R?

The exhaust configuration clearly indicates its turbocharged. Its been spotted with both of the turbo style exhausts (non sport axhaust and sport exhaust). Its also clearly got side scoops in some spy shots. So this is either an option for the turbo or a separate model in the turbo range. I dont know how they will deal with the manual but the max tq level for the 7 speed is 406 ft lb and much lower for the 6 speed. So they either need to develop a new gearbox, use the GT2 version, or dial the torque way back for the 7 speed manual. Which isn't unreasonable, BMW does it for the M3, Aston martin does it for the Vantage, etc.
