Def losing the whole summer w out my Porsche. Plus already traded in my GT4 in early May when I went to the dealer and signed all the papers for the GTS. Soo in saying that should I really ask for something in return for the long delay considering my car has been just sitting in Rhode Island for over almost a month now.
I know you guys say its not the dealers faults but if we all bitch and moan some maybe we can get something for the long delay and having my car just sitting outside in all the elements. Just very frustrating.

Just got this email from Porsche. Anyone else get?

Dear Mr. .....,
We are writing to inform you about an unanticipated delay in the estimated delivery date of your new Porsche 911. We are currently awaiting receipt of the final regulatory certifications required to sell and deliver the vehicles to our dealers.
At the moment the exact length of the delay is unknown, however we currently expect your vehicle will be ready for delivery approximately four to twelve weeks later than the originally planned delivery date. We would like to assure you that we are working continuously with all parties to obtain the required certification as soon as possible. We encourage you to stay in close contact with your Sales Executive at your local Porsche Center who can address any questions you may have and who will inform you as soon as your vehicle is ready for delivery.
We very much regret that you will not be enjoying your new Porsche as soon as you hoped. As a symbol of our sincere appreciation for your continued patience and understanding, we are pleased to inform you that we will apply one additional year of the Porsche Scheduled Maintenance Plan to your vehicle. In addition to the first year, which is already included with your new 2018 Porsche 911, this plan covers your second regularly scheduled maintenance visit, as specified in your vehicle’s published maintenance booklet. Please consult that booklet for a complete list of operations performed and required service intervals for your specific vehicle.
We also offer Porsche Scheduled Maintenance Plans for further extended durations. If you would like to purchase (or already have selected) a Porsche Scheduled Maintenance Plan longer than two years, your dealer will ensure you are only charged the difference.
We thank you for your loyalty to the Porsche brand and sincerely apologize for this inconvenience.
Sincerely,
Simon Kuhnimhof Jeffrey Newman

Is the dealer allowed to sell those 2018 cars?
Maybe pre sold vehicles are being held at port and stock orders are shipping with a no sale clause. Maybe to free up the port a bit?
They know it would cause even more agony if you could see and touch your car but not take it.
No source, just speculation.
